The greens are the slightly vinegary greens you'd get down South minus the cube of fatback some Southerners actually want to eat. The dirty rice is loaded with bits of liver, onions, etc.. The pulled pork and pulled chicken are as good as any I've had at any family dinner. The sauce is not overwrought with either vinegar, sugar or worcestershire... a hard balance to accomplish if you don't know a secret recipe. Everything is served large and piled high. The cornbread is automatically set down with your tea and is of the lightly sweet cakey variety. More is always just a please away. The only complaint I have with this place is that the catfish batter could use a bit more hot sauce (but then again, you CAN add it yourself). Overall, the price is right, the atmosphere loud and friendly and the food able to comfort homesick Southerners. What more can you want? more
