Thai One On is a very nice Japanese and Thai restaurant located in the center of Towson--the food there is truly great, and though I enjoy going, sometimes it does seem a little on the pricey side. I highly recommend the pad thai. They also have a good variety of sushi--which is also very tasty--but I think the thai food probably is better. It can be tough to park in this area, but there is a parking garage across the street.

The Charles Village Pub is located in the center of Charles Village on St. Paul Street, and from the outside doesn't look like much. Sadly, that's what I'd have to say for the inside too. Though the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired, they are a reasonably priced place to get a drink in the area. Their food is decent, and although maybe won't be winning any Zagat awards any time soon, is comparable to other pub foods. Not one of my favorite places to go, but I tend to value atmosphere over price. If you're looking for a cheap beer, this place may be for you.

I've had my car serviced multiple times at the Schaefer & Strohminger Towson location--they are up front about costs and explain everything very well. My only complaint with them has been that one of my repairs (admittedly a rather large one) took them weeks beyond their original estimated time frame, because they had to order parts. They are reliable however, and their prices are fair. If you're seeking a reliable place to bring your Dodge, I'd recommend it.

Rocky Run has always been a favorite of mine--a great alternative to the inexpensive major chain restaurants that abound these days. They have a very big menu filled with burgers, salads, appetizers, and entrees--and all in all, fantastic prices. Some of the entrees can get over 12$, but they tend to be fantastic, and are definitely worth the money. Service has always been great, and they have a great selection of microbrewed beers on tap--also very reasonably priced.

The Baltimore Zoo is another one of Baltimore's attractions for the kids--while it is a very well kept, nice zoo with a decent number of animals, it is on the small side compared to some other zoos I've visited. All the same, worth a visit, particularly if you have kids. They have some really neat events during the year--among the best are the Halloween "Zoo Boo", the "Brew at the Zoo", where local wineries and breweries set up shop, and you can sample their products and enjoy fantastic music.

The Maryland Science Center is one of the inner harbor highlights. Having spent a lot of time in Baltimore with family visiting, this is a great place to take the family. The kids visiting me ranged in age from 10-18, and while some of the exhibits were a little young for the older ones, we all had a great time nonetheless. Another great destination if you're looking for a way to entertain your kids. If you've gotta pick only one museum though, see the Aquarium--it's hard to top that.

If you've got little ones in your crowd, Port Discovery is a great place to take them. In addition to all sorts of learning exhibits and activities, there are craft opportunities around and a gigantic play gym in the center. It's a great place to visit, although a bit on the pricey side. A number of my favorite college memories of Baltimore involve Port Discovery--from volunteering there to having a midnight formal there. That play gym is fun to navigate in a fancy gown! All in all, I'd recommend it, especially if you're looking for something to do with younger children.

The Baltimore Water Taxi's are one of Baltimore's unique attractions--they have several stops along the harbor, and will shuttle you in between for the nominal cost of an all day pass. It is a great way to get over to Fort McHenry or to Fell's Point from the Inner Harbor--and beyond that, it's a lot of fun in and of itself! A good way to pass the time on a summer day. They also give you a pamphlet of coupons you can use at local businesses to save money on dinner and the like after your day of cruising the harbor is complete.

Cooper's Tavern is located right on Thames Street in Fell's Point--has a great view of the harbor. It's a nice place to go for a burger, or a beer. Parking can be a little bit tricky, as there isn't much free parking in the area--but if you carpool you won't have a problem. My favorite part is the half priced burgers on Tuesdays--a fantastic meal for the price. Only problem is a lot of other people ALSO like this special, so it can get a bit crowded...

Bill Bateman's Bistro is a great little sports bar located in Towson on York Road. They recently underwent a bit of a makeover, so their place looks a lot more hip from the outside--but inside they still serve the same HUGE variety of wings and beer. A fun place to go with friends, particularly if you are a fan of wings--it's the general opinion they have the best wings in Baltimore! The rest of their menu is also tasty--I particularly enjoy the burgers.
