Morin's Fine Catering is one of the best caterers located in South Eastern Massachusetts. They have a number of halls, including some of the Newport Mansions--but if you can't afford to rent the Breakers and still want fantastic catering, you can hire them for one of their less-expensive venues. They have a great menu, and are very willing to work with you--I've never had any trouble contacting anyone to talk about any issue at all. They are also very accomodating for people with special food requests, such as gluten free diets.

The Easton Country Club is a gem amoung Southeastern Massachusetts Wedding reception facilities. The function hall has its own building and is situated right on the golf course. It has a private entrance and parking lot, and a patio out back for your cocktail hour. The room is medium sized, seating about 200 (they say) although I wouldn't go much above 175, and is very nicely decorated in New England style. Their prices are also VERY competitive.

Jimmy's Pub is a staple of Main Street in Mansfield--they serve typical pub fare, and have a full service bar. Particularly great, though, are their sandwiches. They have some absolutely great ones--try the Town Hall or the Monte Cristo. I know people who drive from hundreds of miles away to get one of these! Their atmosphere is definitely "pub"-y, but they have a nice function room as well, located off the main section of the restaurant.

I've been a member of the Sacred Heart Shrine for several years now. It is by far the best church that I found in Baltimore--a great community, with lots of young adults and young families, as well as older individuals to lend the voice of experience. Great homilies and fantastic music have kept me coming back for years. I also enjoy participating in the Young Adult ministry group--it's a great way to meet people, and we get to help out our community and learn more about our faith at the same time.

The Cafe on the Common is a very cute little place in Mansfield, Massachusetts where you can get all sorts of breakfast & lunch fare. It is very reasonably priced and has a very big menu. I particularly like the eggs benedicts...they always have very interesting and unique specials. If you go on weekdays before 8, you can get the early bird special! Service is speedy and the food is very good--a winner in my book.

The Orient Restaurant serves a variety of Asian food reasonably priced. It's more than just the typical take-out Chinese food place: they have a spacious, fairly nice dining room and lots of space. Their food is very good; I've tried many menu options, everything from cashew chicken to sushi--and it's all been good. Service is average, and my only real complaint is that it's hard to find parking nearby. But if you're in the area already, it's a nice place for dinner.

Duclaw is a nice place to hang out with friends and enjoy a beer after work, or on a nice warm night. The location in Fell's Point is beautiful--they have a very big terrace you can sit on to enjoy your food and drink, and a nice cool breeze from the harbor. Their beers are very good, although I think there are better in Baltimore--if you're looking strictly for great beer, I'd opt for Brewer's Art instead.

New No Da Ji is an Asian restaurant on North Charles Street in Baltimore City that serves all the traditional favorites--but my favorite part of this restaurant is the fabulous buffet. It's an all-you-can eat place, and they have all kinds of fantastic Asian delights--from dishes like beef with broccoli to lo mein noodles to sushi. For me, it was a great way to try many new things without having to go out on a limb and pay for an entire entree. Definitely a nice place within walking distance of Hopkins to visit.

Sabatino's is a very nice restaurant located in Little Italy--like many other Little Italy restaurants, their food is what you'd typically think of when you think Italian. Their pasta is excellent, and their eggplant parmesan is too. I also very much so enjoyed their bread. It's definitely worth a visit or two. The atmosphere is homey: I felt like I was eating in my grandmother's dining room more than in a restaurant.

Sotto Sopra is a very classy Italian restaurant located on Charles Street in Baltimore. It definitely caters to the well-to-do crowd--at least if you look at their prices. The food is good, but I think you can find better if you head over to Little Italy--but if you're looking for a way to really impress a date, this could be what you're looking for. When I was there, the maitre d' wore crocodile shoes. It was certainly an experience to remember.
