If you want to support local budding artists, go to Art Mart! It is a huge co-op, that has a ton of original art! It is so much fun to go in and look around at everything they have to offer. They always have great photographs of Boulder, the foothills and Colorado in general. They also have a wonderful selection of candles and jewelery! My kids love going in there because the staff is so nice to them and they always get a free balloon!

Fresh Produce's clothes are as cute as they sound! They are bright, big and comfortable! They have matching sets for moms and their kids, which is pretty cute! The clothes are a little expensive, but the quality is great! They last a really long time and hold their color wash after wash! The staff is very nice and always makes a point of talking to the kids! It is also a good place to buy gifts for out-of-towner's since it is a Colorado based company!

Hello Mommy is a very chic store for mom's. They have top of the line maternity wear, strollers, clothing and knick-knacks for kids. The prices are very expensive, which I would be willing to pay, if the staff wasn't so snobby. The first thing they do is check you out when you walk in. Sorry my kids were wearing Old Navy instead of Gap and I had a McClearan stroller instead of a Bugaboo...My money spends just the same! I would hate to see a store fail because of the staff, but that is the lasting impression with the customers!

Be careful if you have a child who is just starting to read before you enter this store! Some of their shirts are for mature audiences only, but I have to admit they are quite funny! It is a great place to check out if you need a gag gift for a friend. They also do have a great selection of CU t-shirts as well. The staff is nice and sarcastic, which I think you would have to be to work there!

If you are ever walking through Flatiron Crossing, you have probably had the smell of freshly popped pop corn take over your senses! That smell does seem to lure you in, but the popcorn never seems to taste as good as it smells. I think that it is very bland, even the butter flavored. The saving grace is that they now have flavored salts, such as cheddar cheese and bbq, that you can add yourself. These do give the popcorn a better flavor. Without it, I would stick with microwave. It tastes better and is a lot more inexpensive.

If you are looking for a really unique, fun pair of shoes, go to Frolic! It is one of those stores that screams your name from the outside! The decor is simple, but the shoes stand out! They were having a big sale when I was there, so I didn't think the prices were bad! The staff was kind and not pushy, which is nice!

Although I am not a CU student, I have visited the CU Bookstore several times to get some Colorado gear for my friends and family. They have a great selection of t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts and novelty gifts. The staff is very friendly and helpful, which is nice to see in a college town! It is worth the drive to check out all the authentic CU gear!

If you are a Hyland Hills resident and you are looking for an inexpensive activity for your children, try gymnastics at the Vanarsdale center. Their classes meet once a week and are 45 minutes long. The kids and parents get to stretch, go through and obstacle course and jump on their huge trampoline into the big foam pit! The classes really do a lot for the kids in fostering good exercise habits and high self-esteem! The instructors are very nice, caring and patient!

Outside of the Mediterranean Cafe, you can always sample some of their wonderful falafel, great gyros and some classic Caesar chicken! Those samples will suck you in! They have a great variety of Mediterranean food as described, not to mention plenty of sides like basmati rice, Greek salad and soups. The staff is so friendly and the owner is always on hand. I think it is the best place in the food court!
