If you have an older import and you need parts for it, I recommend Adam’s Imports. They are a smaller junkyard, so they don’t necessarily have everything you’re looking for, but they are friendly, helpful, and have good prices. About half of the time, they pulled the part for me, unlike many junkyards where you have to pull it yourself. It’s definitely worth calling Adam’s Imports first!

Another fun store to browse during your shopping trip to Old Littleton is A Garden Path. They have a wonderful assortment of candles, as well as other various products such as Burt’s Bees and decorative gifts. There is also an outdoor area with an assortment of pretty garden objects, such as statues and fountains. The service is friendly and very low pressure. A Garden Path is an excellent place to shop when you need to stop and smell the candles!

Firefighters and fire trucks are among the most popular icons for young children. If your child loves these heroes and their shiny red trucks, take them to the Denver Firefighter’s Museum! The museum, located in an old Denver firehouse, has old fire engines, including one kids can play on, a pole the kids can slide down, as well as other firefighter memorabilia. What’s more, you can have your kids’ birthday parties there; the second floor, where the old firefighters’ quarters were located, are now used for events!

Several months ago, when we were first dating, my boyfriend took me to Sushi Tazu in an attempt to compete with the sushi place I had introduced him to. Sadly, although Sushi Tazu had good food and good service, it was just your average, run-of-the-mill sushi place: loud, crowded, and New-Age-sterile. As the sushi was pretty good, I certainly wouldn’t discourage anyone from going there, but I’d certainly recommend an alternative!

Sushi Den is another of your busy Denver sushi restaurants. Due to the long wait, I’ve only had their food as carry out. The food was definitely good, and as such deserves a recommendation. However, from what I saw of it the restaurant gets quite crowded in the evenings, and seems upscale, possible to the point of being pretentious. The food at Sushi Den is definitely worth trying, but unless you’re prepared to wait for a while, I suggest carry out!

I’ve had Pasquini’s food on several occasions; the first time we ate in, and the rest of the times we had carry out or delivery. Eating in is quite an experience; with its mis-matched, many-colored tables and chairs, the place looks quite unique and eclectic. Carry out or delivery is just as good, though, as the food is the real reason for eating at Pasquini’s. Their pizza is delicious – so much better than those chain pizza joints – and I love their desserts, namely their scrumptious fruit tarts!

If you like coffee, good food, late nights, and an eclectic mix of people, then Paris on the Platte is the coffee shop for you. Paris is one of the few places in town that I know of that serves coffee late into the night (unless you count Denny’s, which I don’t), as well as one of the few places in town that has truly free internet access – wireless AND hardline hookup. People of all types walk through their doors – you’ll see business people with laptops mixed in with kids with crazy hair. Although Paris used to have a used bookstore in one side of their unit, that space has been turned into a wine bar. Paris is one of my favorite places to go and write, particularly after attending events that I’m reviewing – it has just the right amount of chatter and hustle-bustle, and no one bothers you!

As you can probably already tell, I never went for the Atkins types of diets – I love carbohydrates way too much! My favorite is, of course, pasta – and the best place for pasta is Noodles & Company. With many different dishes to choose from – from macaroni and cheese, to Asian-style pasta dishes, to soups and salads – the experience tastes different every time I go, but feels just as good every time!

Il Vicino’s serves fast, quality Italian food: wood oven pizzas and other Italian dishes. The pizzas are their main selling point; about half the menu is made up of pizzas with different combinations of ingredients. The restaurant also serves alcoholic drinks, and I have to say that their wines are surprisingly good! For fast Italian, you’ll also get good service – after you place your order up front, the servers will bring you your food and check back with you to make sure you’re satisfied and see if you need anything else. If you want good food but a relaxed night, Il Vicino’s is an excellent choice!
