We always order pizza on Super Bowl Sunday! Our choice of pizza is from Pizza Hut. They have so many various selections of discounts and coupons that you can sure save on the budget, especially if you are expecting a large crowd.
On New Year's Day we got a large pizza from Pizza Hut for $10.99. It included three toppings of our choice. We were able to do this with a coupon from our coupon drawer for a $10.99 large pizza on Monday and Tuesday nights. I was so sure they would not honor it since it was a holiday - New Year's Day - but they did and I was quite impressed that they were not greedy, and still honored the Monday Night Special Deal.
Pizza Hut has okay pizzas. I don't put them in the great category, but they are good for the price. You have choices of crust and toppings just like you do at Domino's Pizza, but the price is so much better.
The last time my husband and I bought two mediums at Domino's Pizza, we ended up spending $27.00. I vowed that would be the last time I eat pizza from Domino's. So, now it is Pizza Hut for us. We order in and my husband picks it up. Fresh and warm to eat when he gets home. This is a quick and easy dinner for us on occasion. And the price is great with the coupons. When you order a pizza, they include new coupons with each order.

I am so glad you can not see through my computer into my office and the rest of the house. I am so disorganized in everything I do around the home. And, here I was known as a great organizer on my job. I have the job reviews to prove it.
Therefore, my New Years Resolution for 2007 is to become more organized. I watch all of those shows on Home & Garden Network about organizing. I think I know how to do it now. All I have to do is get started. So, on January 1st, even though it is a holiday, in my office, I am going to put throw aways in one box, still-to-do in one box, and important papers in another box. The important papers are going to get filed - which means starting a new file for some subjects. The throw aways are going in the trash containers for recycling. And the still-to-do box will be saved for January 2nd, when I will begin to sort through each item and finish it. I must admit, it is a little scary to think about what might be in that to-do box. What if it was suppose to be done a month ago and I already missed the deadline?
This is an idea that I got right off Home & Garden's Organizing segment. The lady is always telling the home owner's to sort first. Buy storage bins, baskets, and containers for the important items in your office. Have a sorting container on your desk for ingoing and outgoing mail. If you save magazines, buy or make magazine holders for the closet.
I can't wait until I can start finding things again! And I will love being able to walk around without stepping on anything anymore. The appraiser didn't even want to take a picture of my office for his records when he came by two weeks ago!

It is almost 2007 and I haven't even purchased any calendars for the year as yet! I already have doctor, dentist and class meetings planned for 2007, but no calendar to enter the dates. I think it is time for me to go to my favorite place - either on-line, in stores, by mail-order catalog - to order my Lang calendars for me and my husband for the coming year.
The Lang Company is located in Delafield, Wisconsin, 53018, at P.O. Box 99. You may call them for a catalog by calling 800-262-2611. Also the web site for Lang is http://www.lang.com where you can complete an order of calendars for 2007, as well as cards and fine pads of note paper. There products are exceptionally prepared with much quality and interesting use of patterns and paintings. You can purchase calendars with paintings by famous artists like Shelly Reeves Smith. Each month there is an image of that artist's original paintings. You can even purchase wooden frames to portray the calendar in a fashionable way on your walls.
Barnes and Noble usually carries the Lang Calendars. I have also found them in local floral shops in Apple Valley, CA. Many gift shops in Big Bear, CA carry Lang Calendars and the Lang cards. I am sure this would be the same all over the country. If you are not sure, you may call and find out if a gift shop in your area carries the Lang paper products in their store. If so, check out their new 2007 calendars as I am going to do. I am sure you will love their excellent paper products. If you are going to hang a calendar on your wall in the kitchen, den or study why not have a beautiful one to look at through the year!

My New Years Resolution for 2007 is to save money. I am great at the spending, but not so great at the saving. Since I have checking and savings accounts with Wells Fargo Bank, I will start adding to my savings account every month. I read that you are to pay yourself first then the bills and other expenditures. Those expenditures include eating out, clothes, and groceries. Oh dear! We do love dining in local restaurants and shopping at a grocery store frequently. But, the idea is to save money - so I must begin! I have been a customer of Wells Fargo's since 1971. I have never changed banks because they have always served me well. No need to change when you already have a good thing!
Right now, I save $25.00 each paycheck. It is time to double that amount. Then never, never touch that money. It will only be for "real" emergencies.
Isn't budgeting fun? I would rather get that new couch at Lazy-Boy or the shoes I saw at Penney's, but I guess you can't consider those things an emergency. Pillows on the floor will suffice, and the shoes in my closet I never wore as yet will get me by for awhile! I can already tell that this New Years resolution is going to be very hard to keep up all year long. I better start thinking more positive than that if I am going to make this work!

I have discovered a new magazine - Allure http://www.allure.com. It is my fountain of youth. It contains beauty tips; winning, breakthrough product listings, flattering haircuts, ads on the new products available, perfume samples, make-up how-to's,
fashion do's and don'ts, fashion scoops, and plenty of articles pertaining to beauty. Out of the use of this magazine I am going to start thinking about beauty for myself again.
This magazine is not geared to my age level. But, the pictures in the magazine inspire me to be beautiful. I have forgotten to be a beautiful lady no matter what the age is. Looking at this magazine inspires me to put on makeup; pick out the better clothes in my closet, even if I am not going "out on the town"; and to shop for new items in the store that might help me to have a more vibrant, visibly healthy skin and face.
I use to look at many magazines through the years like Seventeen and Cosmopolitan and so-forth, but then I got away from them. You will be surprised how out-of-date you can become if you don't keep abreast of the new fashions of the new decade.
My plans for 2007 is to think young! I am not sure I am going to think "old" ever again!

I am going to begin my new year by learning how to do some of my own crafts and art work to decorate my home and cabin with. I expect I will be found at the local JO-ANN store where I can buy patterns, material, sewing machines, crafts, art supplies, and seasonal decor items. My grandchildren love to make their own things, so some of the things I buy will be gifts for them through the year.
If you are a regular customer and also sign up and shop for JO-ANN fabrics & crafts on-line at http://www.joann.com you will start to receive more coupons for JO-ANN in the mail. These coupons can save you up to 40% to 50% for regular priced items.
What I have discovered at the JOANN stores is a lot of sale items through the years which is a savings for anyone's budget, including my own. Examples: 40% off of Christopher Lowell's Fabric Collection, 50% off of Fleece Prints, 50% off of holiday papercrafting items, 40% off of their rubber stamps, and 40% off of scrapbooking coordinates, and so much more.
You can buy a Jo-Ann gift card in any denomination at any Jo-Ann store nationwide or at Joann.com. when a gift is needed for the artist or crafter in your family.
I believe I have lost my Preferred Customer status by now since my plans for 2006 did not get completed. So for that New Year's resolution - go to JO-ANN's and get my supplies and get to work in 2007 and earn my Preferred Customer status back again!

We have frequent flier miles with Alaska. And what is so great about that you never lose your miles. Since my husband and I fly occasionally to visit family it takes us awhile to build up enough miles to turn in for a free flight. Also, they have other airlines that we can book on and still get miles for Alaska's Frequent Flier Plan. Recently my husband flew on American Airlines for business and got miles for his frequent flier plan. This was an added bonus to the business trip!
We have always had excellent service, easy ticket purchasing, choices of seating, reliable & on-time flights ( in fact we have arrived early on several of our flights), easy check-in, nice flight attendants on all of our flights with Alaska Airlines.
I just wish they flew to Denver where my brother lives. That may come in the future since they did set up a flight to Denver from Seattle, so now I need to wait for Southern California to Denver. But we have no problem getting to northern Oregon where my daughter lives and most of our flights are to that destination.
The price of the tickets are comparable to the Southwest Airlines ticket prices and I don't have to stop in San Jose or Oakland - I can go non-stop. So for a few dollars more I fly Alaska Airlines to get the non-stop flight. It is seldom that you can get a Southwest Airline Ticket that doesn't involve some kind of stop or stops and you end up adding hours to your traveling time. I don't want to spend all day in a plane and airport - I want to get to my destination so I can enjoy the people I came to visit. My husband just went on a business trip to Albuquerque, N.M. and had to fly through Phoenix to get there. It tried real hard to get an American flight but since it was last minute there were not very many flights available for the next day. Then he could have received more flight miles for Alaska. http://www.alaskaairlines.com

Everyone thinks of PetsMart for their dogs and cats, but don't forget they also have fish, fish supplies, fish food, & products for your fish tank and your pond. The prices are fair and equal to other pet stores.
We can buy Koi food for the different seasons of the year. Fall/Spring Koi food for the months that the fish are coming out or going into hibernation for the winter. Then the full-course Koi food for the summer time when they are ready to fatten up. You can also purchase other items that are useful for your pond.
As for our fish tank, my husband uses their charcoal filters and replacements to clean the tank once-a-month. They also sale plants, food, tank decor, and other supplies you may need to keep your fish tank in great shape throughout the year. And, if you need more fish for your tank/pond, they also provide a variety of fish for you to choose from. We have always had good luck with any fish we have purchased from their store.
Even though PetsMart is known for allowing your pet in the store with you while you shop, I can't take my fish. Knowing me, I would probably drop the fish bowl, and kill my fish.
But, I do notice whenever we are there that they have a great selection of other items for other types of pets as well as fish, dogs, and cats. (Maybe you need a set-up for your gerbil or food for your birds.) Also, I notice an area to learn how to train your dog, an area for grooming your dog and plenty of toys for dogs and cats. They have toys that are fantastic for chewing, moving and looking alive, and for tossing around.. These type of toys encourage your pet to play and exercise.

Johnny Rebs' Restaurant is getting a bad reputation with me and my friends. One of my friends has actually given it three tries and not once has she and her husband been satisfied with their meals. One of their visits included some Barbecued Chicken which had to be sent back to the kitchen two times to be cooked till it was done. In other words, it was rather uncooked when it first arrived to their table.
My husband and I have given it two tries. Both times has been in the "ok" category, but it is not that kind of restaurant that you can't wait to go back to again.
I've been thinking about it, and I have decided that for their prices - $12.95 to $20.95 for their main courses of barbecued catfish, chicken, baby back ribs, pork butt, sides of beef ribs, etc., they don't give you the full dining experience you would like for a sit-down and dine-as-a couple dinner. To make the experience longer and more enjoyable, I feel they should include a basket of breads, which they keep filled throughout your meal. Since they offer such breads as biscuits, hush puppies, etc., they could ask you which you prefer. Then they could include a small dinner salad before the meal arrives with your choice of dressing. Then bring the entrée' with your two choices of side dishes. They do offer dessert at the end of the meal.
It is a Roadhouse Barbecue Restaurant so they do offer free peanuts, and the shells can be tossed on to the floor. I don't see the thrill in that. It makes the restaurant look messy, and I don't have the heart to throw food on the floor. I am like a Boy Scout - pick up after yourselves and keep nature clean of people's junk!
I have had the Blackened Catfish both times I have eaten there. It was just "okay". My husband said his rack of beef ribs was smothered in too much barbecue sauce. He did not like the taste of the beans or the biscuit, and only ate a few bites of each. I tried his biscuit and found it was very dry and made with too much flour. The hush puppies are okay. I would recommend them over the biscuits. The cole slaw was okay also, It wasn't sweet or sour which made it good enough to eat.
Now, as far as the service goes, it is not very good. You do get seated immediately and greeted with a hello and smile. The bus boy doesn't seem to be in the mood to work and is rather abrupt with his questions and not too interested in your responses. We ordered water with a lemon, and he seemed offended by our request. When he brought the glasses of water to us, he "tossed" the straws on to the table without a word or a smile. The waitress was always hard to find. I had to ask for ice two times. The second time, she didn't even say I'm sorry. Then I had to go find her to get some more water for my water glass. At that point I was wishing I could serve myself. When she did come by on occasion she would ask us if everything was okay and did we need anything. She never came by with a pitcher of water or a pitcher of tea for the other tables. She seemed to have more important things to do then wait on her customers. To tell you the truth nobody seemed happy to be working there. I wonder what that says about the management? The one employee that helped us with a smile and quick service was a young clean-up guy that happened to be walking by our table. I'm sure that wasn't his job, but he helped us anyway.
The only reason we went back a second time to give it one more chance was because of the $13.00 coupon I had received. The coupon definitely helped us keep the price of our dinner-for-two down to a reasonable amount. But, I am wondering why my digestive system is gurgling and upset today!? The restaurant does have an "A" rating, which means it passed on the inspection requirements.

This is the place to go to set up a good barbecue. You can purchase all of your plastic utensils, paper plates, and plastic cups at this location. Then on to the food. My husband will be purchasing a large package of ground beef and buns to make his famous hamburgers for the family members that will be arriving soon for Labor Day Weekend. He will also purchase their great salsa and a large bag of tortilla chips.
How else can you feed a big crowd without going to Costco where all of their merchandise is meant for those larger quantities you need for a cook out. You can even buy yourself a gas grill, umbrella, chairs, and lights at the same store you are buying your food. If you need a dessert, they have plenty of large cakes and pies to take home. The produce section will carry those vegetables and fruits you need for your get-together with family and friends. How about some slices of watermelon; and tomatoes, onions, and lettuce to put on the hamburgers.
Maybe you want to buy different meats. Costco carries large quantities of steaks, chickens, hot dogs, and roasts at fair prices to grill on your old or new gas/charcoal grills.
If you need flowers for the table, they have that too. What if you need a new pair of shorts to wear for the day - they have that also!!! Oh, and if you want some good music to play on your CD player, they have plenty of CDs to choose from. Even a stack of DVDs for the movie watchers in the family. And if you have a pool, which we don't, then you can purchase some pool towels, sandals, plastic glasses and pool toys for an enjoyable afternoon playing in the water. You won't even have to go to any other store. Everything you need for a great barbecue is found in this one location - Costco.
