This is an marvelous and colorful magazine-style publication that is free in Littleton. I understand that they are about to expand to include even more of the south end. (it's name will also be changed to the South end Downtowner). This is good news as this highly readable publication is a must-have for anyone living in and around the Littleton area. Targeted toward families and singles over 30, the work is informative and creative. Recent articles include "Driving Ireland" a review of local artists. The editorials are great and it's a great business resource for the local area as well.

This place is well known in Boulder and I can see why. The service is good, the chai I had was hot and spicy--just the way I like it. They offer marvelous pastries to go with their beverages and I ordered an orange biscotti that was very, very good! There is a chocolatier in the corner--yum yum!
The staff was very cordial and I had a lovely chat while waiting for my chai. tables are quickly cleaned off for the next customer. All in all--so much better than the large chain coffee shops!

This was my first try at Korean food and I loved it. the seafood noodle dish was awesome and the 10 little dishes (literally!) of appetizers brought to the table were interesting and flavorful. The decor is a soothing peach and it is very tranquil and peaceful. Service was friendly and FAST! Out server was quick to recommend dishes and answer our questions. The also have BBQ at the table (they actually cook it there; while I did not indulge in that meal, I bet it would be fun and delicious.
The only down sides were minimal. We arrived later on a Saturday night (but still within plenty of time until the closed, as they are open until 11). The staff was nosily cleaning and "shutting down" some nearby tables and it was a bit distracting. Also, the initial soup, which we didn't order, but apparently came with the meal had meat in it and as a non-meat-eater, I would have liked to have been told that before I ate some.

Evergreen Lake and the Evergreen Boathouse are high on my list of places to recommend. The site is a charming one to have your wedding--the staff at the boathouse will set up chairs on their back lawn and patio for you to perform your wedding by the after. If you're lucky, the ducks will glide by as you state your vows (of course, so could a kayaker, but you take what you get!) Their patio is a great place for your guests to have cocktails and mingle. The inside reception room is large and can accommodate a good-sized reception.
The lake itself is a quick walk-about. Enough to stretch your legs without working up too much of a sweat! You can also rent a canoe or a paddle boat.

This popular recreational site, centered around Lake Dillon, deserves its reputation. It's wonderful. You can rent all kinds of boats for the lake--from pontoons to fishing boats and everything in between. There is no swimming allowed in the lake, however. Nonetheless, it's a great spot to watch the boaters, picnic or stroll the path that goes around the lake.
To my delight, I discovered last year that the path around Lake Dillon is part of a larger recreational path that runs from Frisco to Breckenridge. I spent a delightful day of riding, which took me into Breckenridge for lunch and then back on this easy to ride path. it's a great day trip from Denver.

On a visit to Aspen a year ago, I developed a powerful craving for ice cream after a delicious Mexican dinner. Not just any kind of ice cream--it had to be coconut ice cream (preferably with chocolate sprinkles). Without much hope, I stopped by the Paradise Bakery and lo and behold, they had it. And it was GOOOOD! Creamy, refreshing and served with a smile (AND chocolate sprinkles--I was in heaven).
They already had my repeat business, but that was made even better as I sat outside Paradise munching my cone and watched the street performers. It was a great evening--all for the price of an ice cream cone!

This is not what you'd expect from an Aspen eatery, but it's great. Located on the second floor over (what else?) the Boogies Boutique, it has the feel of a happenin' 50's diner. And the food is pretty good. They also demonstrate some degree of health-consciousness; their menu states that their fried foods are done with Canola oil and that they use only lean meats. I went there for lunch on several occasions and found the sandwiches thick and hardy and the salads plentiful and very fresh. At lunchtime, the staff is pretty overworked, so you may have to flag someone down to clear off a table. Baby boomers will love the 50's paraphernalia on the wall--there's lots to see.
It's also one of the few places in Aspen that are kid-friendly.

This site is worth a look. The rooms are very odd--few of them are square, which gives an aura of the unexpected as you poke around the place. The eight-sided chapel is particularly interesting. The tour is self-guided and the staff will give you a pamphlet to guide you. They are also there to answer any additional questions you might have as you stroll through. The furniture is all form the period when the castle was constructed, so if you like antiques, it will pique your interest.
An added treat is the miniature museum on the ground floor. There are enough doll houses and furniture to keep you looking and fascinated for hours!

A visit here will give you an appreciation for Native American history. These are a re-creation of genuine Indian cliff dwellings but they are quite genuine. Because they are not original, guests are encouraged to touch and explore, which is a great relief for the kids.
Children can climb the ladders to tiny second floor balconies, creep through tunnels and run in and out of small doorways to their heart's content. It's a very kid-friendly place. In the warm weather, there are Indian dancers there and they put on an excellent show. I would definitely add this to my list of Colorado Springs-are things to do--it's not far to Manitou Springs and afterward you can take in the quaint Manitou Springs shops.

Most folks overlook this beautiful campus when they head down to the Springs. This is a mistake, for it is quite beautiful. Of particular note is their gorgeous chapel, which is second to none. If you are thinking of a memorable place to get married, I'd look into the Academy.
As you enter the grounds, a cadet will smartly salute you and then you can check out the B-52 Bomber that marks the entrance. Stop at the visitor center--a few miles down a winding road where you can sometimes spot deer--and pick up a map for a self-guided tour. If you arrive just before noon, you will see the cadets marching as a group to the dining hall.
The Academy is surrounded by walking trails that are meandering and lovely.
