For a beautiful outdoor wedding experience, consider the Arrowhead Golf Club. Having a wedding on their lawn in full view of the beautiful red rock formations is gorgeous! These folks specialize in weddings and it is easy to see why. Although the receptions in the Roxborough room are nice and the food is good, it is the dramatic ceremony venue outside that gives arrowhead its distinctive edge ind the wedding business. Your photos will be breathtaking!

I like Teddy's for a variety of dance music--songs that folks over 40 have heard of! Don't classify this as an "older folk's" dance place, though, for on the few times I've been there, I've seen a great variety of ages. The music will get you into it and you'll be up there dancing away in no time. it's very casual and laid back--everyone is just here for a good time. It does get crowded though, so do expect to wait for a table and sometimes your drink order, too.
Put your dancing shoes on and check them out!

You'll be so glad you selected this place for you wedding when you come gliding down the circular staircase to make your entrance. Although it's pricey, it's well worth it--one of those situations where you "get what you pay for". The staff will go out of their way to insure your satisfaction. Both the bride's and groom's changing rooms are spacious and well decorated.
The setting for your ceremony is roomy and elegant (in front of a beautiful 2-story window) --likewise for your reception. No detail is left to chance at this location. You'll sense the ambiance as soon as you drive up. It is even gorgeous from the outside--fashioned after an elegant French Villa. Once you are inside, you will not be disappointed as you peak over the mezzanine railings to see your guests. This popular location books early, however, so don't be afraid to contact them well in advance of your wedding. Substantial savings can be had if you book off-peak days and hours.

Reminiscent of 1940's casual elegance, the Denver Chop House is where I generally bring my out of town guests. famous for chops, steak and their gigantic fried onion rings, the Chop House never disappoints. The decor is very wooded and earthy feeling--lots of dark wood. The staff is friendly and they really MOVE as it gets quite busy. Expect to wait for a table if you don't have reservations, but you can always belly up to the bar while you wait for some fast service. I'm not a beer drinker, but they seem to be known for their fresh ales--at least everyone seems to be ordering them.

The food is Italian/American and it is very good. More impressive is the number of billiard tables they offer. They seem to stretch on forever, and although this place is generally busy and bustling, it retains a quiet ambiance about it. I've been there for an evening with friends and found it most enjoyable--and we didn't even play pool. The service is competent and friendly. The drinks are good. Parking is a bit tight, but that's to be expected for that area.

The place to go when you want bargains, bargains, bargains! Well laid out and very inclusive, this outlet center has everything in over 120 stores. Brand names such as Van Heusen, Bass, and Geoffrey Beane are my favorites. There frequent sales always entice me to make the drive down from Denver and their ample parking, clean restrooms and expansive food court always make me glad I did. Tuesday is Senior discount day for citizens 55 and up.

This shop has high quality sports merchandise and exceptional customer service. I recently purchased some hiking clothing there and was very impressed with how the staff went out of their way to assist me. Without being overly pushy, they were there when I needed them and helped me find the right product for me. They also have a liberal return policy, which I liked since I sometimes get home and change my mind.

There is a plethora of activities at Fat City. From the ever-pervasive video games to laser tag to bowling to mini golf, this will drain your pocketbook, one dollar at a time, but the kids will love it. I had my daughter's birthday party there a few years ago (they specialize in that) and they all had a marvelous time. There's not a whole lot there to interest Mom & Dad while the pre-teens are running about, but at least you know they are safe and (somewhere) under one roof.

I attended a taping of e-town at the Boulder Theater recently and I was entranced by the beauty of this historical building. From the mid 1920's to the late 70's this building served as a movie theater, but now it houses all sorts of quirky and alternative entertainment. the large center bar serves drinks for all and the acoustics are quite good. Their upcoming event calendar lists an impressive array of entertainment suitable for a wide audience. the e-town taping, featuring the Gourds and Michelle something or other (darned if I can recall her name, but she was good!) was great fun.

I admit I thought Pizza and Mussels an odd combination, but since i love them both, I decided to check out this new restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised! The service is outstanding and the array of salads is impressive.
Their pizza is available by the slice or by the whole pie and it is flavorful and robust. The mussels were flavorful and had a hint of garlic. What surprised me most were the desserts, fro I won't expecting them to be so plentiful and luscious! They also hoofer wine and beer for a wonderful all around meal.
