Stop by this cozy and warm coffee shop near 32nd and Lowell for a great dose of the warm fuzzies--complete with wireless access! The staff there are always outgoing, fast and pleasant and the menu is varied. I don't even drink coffee, but their chai and cider are out of this world. They have books, comfy chairs, quiet (if you want it) or busy spots to watch the world go by. They even have a small meeting room and a book club.
A wonderful alternative to the chains! They also have a downtown location.

Try their decadent desserts--if you dare! Their menu is so varied that you could go there once a week for a year and never have to order the same thing twice--and they cater to both spicy-lovers and milder appetites!

Okay, couch potatoes, it's time to start working on that New Year's Resolution to get in shape. You don't have to hike a 14-er. Just get out and MOVE. A great place to start is in our own backyard--the trails at Roxborough State Park. A good one to start with is the Fountain Trail. It's gentle, flat and relatively short--I zipped through it in an hour. (Great for kids.) The red rock formations are gorgeous!! Bring your camera. I hike it often and frequently can get within 10 feet or so of deer--they are used to people and they pretty much ignore us! Splendid to behold. Their visitor center is staffed with interesting and knowledgeable staff who are eager to share. And their restrooms are CLEAN!!!
Other trails there are also magnificent--get a trail map at the Visitor Center and have a blast. Beware, though, in late winter, these trails are slushy--so wear good hiking boots.

I bought my 2005 Chevy Cobalt from Luby Chevrolet last year and it was actually a pleasant experience. Now, while most folks don't relish the idea of haggling with a car salesman, it's even worse for a single woman who has no idea whatsoever of what's under the hood. Worse still for a single woman who is busy running her own business, who also has a touch of impatience in her personality and who definitely had no intention of spending hours in the showroom.
They actually respected this!! They listened to me, treated me with respect. Heck, they even gave me lunch! I was in and out in two hours--I had a client to go see and in Boulder and even though the paperwork wasn't complete by that time--they GAVE ME THE CAR TO DRIVE TO MY APPOINTMENT. It wasn't even "mine" yet. I was very impressed. Plus, I LOVE the car!!!
You can bet I'll be back!

I am so appalled by the mistakes that Dex Media makes! As a self-employed wedding officiant, I commit to giving my clients topnotch service at a fair price. If only Qwest could offer something similar. With five years of placing ads with them, they have messed up four years in a row. From billing errors to formatting my ad wrong to this year's best--printing the wrong phone number!! Yes, that's right folks, I will lose a TON of business this year because they did not print what they were given.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd put my advertising dollars anywhere but the yellow pages!

This is a newer location for them, and it shows. Full size, private dressing rooms, wide aisles, well stocked and well-organized merchandise make this a bargain-hunter's paradise. You never know what you'll find, so don't go with any preconceived expectations. They even have racks outside the dressing room for your unwanted try-ons and one of their helpful employees will put them away for you. Plus, you know that your money is going to help a good cause.
In terms of donations, this location makes it easy. Just drive around to the back and their guys will come and unload you right away, give you a receipt and you're on to the next errand!

I just love this store
yes, yes....I know all about the name they give this place of "Needless Markups" but have you ever been in their "Last Call" outlet at Colorado Mills? It's a perfect place to pick up designer outfits...
yes, yes....I know all about the name they give this place of "Needless Markups" but have you ever been in their "Last Call" outlet at Colorado Mills? It's a perfect place to pick up designer outfits and clothing at a price that is a bit more within reach. (Notice I did not say affordable, although they do offer deep discounts on end of season items.)
This is just where to go to feel special and to find something a little outside the norm! Yes, I pay more, but it's still cheaper than their original and they designs are just neat. Open a charge there (if you have self-control) and you get an additional 5% off your purchases. Plus, they just treat you so well--it feels high end and indulgent.
A real treat if you have cash to splurge!

More than just another Hallmark store, these folks offer a variety of gifts and unique items in addition to cards and wrapping paper. On a recent trip there, I took my 14 month old granddaughter on an adventure to purchase "her own" birthday gift for her mom. (Do not try this at home, by the way--shopping with a 14 month old is not for the faint of heart!) We settled on a warm and cuddly scarf in Bronco's colors (her mom's favorite team, of course) and a beautiful mother/daughter picture frame..
More importantly than the items, the two employees on duty that day were most charming and patient with my little one. One of the gals was training and very apologetic about her speed as she learned the ropes. She did just great though, and it was nice to find the gifts, the paper and the card all in one location.
...If only they sold cakes!

Buy a little or a lot--you don't have to buy a whole tub of something just for one recipe. Everything is measured and packaged while you wait.
