California Crisp is one of my favorite places in the food court of the Valley Fair Mall. They offer great, large salads and sandwiches. The line can be long but it moves quickly. It is in the corner near the bathrooms. I like to get a Jamba Juice or lemonade to drink with my meal.

I don't drink coffee so I can't comment on theirs. This location is in the big shopping center with Albertson's and Longs. There is a pizza place next door. The decor is standard Starbucks, and not very warm.

In my opinion, Starbucks makes the best vegan hot chocolate available, although (unfortunately) they do charge extra for soy milk. I don't drink coffee so I can't comment on theirs. They also offer wireless access, which you can try for free but have to pay for on subsequent visits. I, personally, don't find the environment condusive to working.

Subway will make your sandwiches exactly how you want them. They won't let you know, but can ask for more of any ingredient. For some reason, the employees here have a particularly diffficult time...
Subway will make your sandwiches exactly how you want them. They won't let you know, but can ask for more of any ingredient. For some reason, the employees here have a particularly diffficult time with my vegan order (no cheese, no meat). I've found that I prefer the toasted sandwiches at Quiznos.

If you want a traditional, hearty, inexpensive American breakfast, this is your place. As a vegan, I only get potatoes for breakfast when dining out, and I found the potatoes at Sara's to be really boring. They could only be rescued by excessive amounts of salt. I opt for other eateries for breakfast.

This California Pizza Kitchen is in the Valley Fair Mall and there are special parking spaces for those getting take out. I happen to love the salads (particularly the Thai Crunch Salad without chicken) and the smashed pea and barley soup, which is vegetarian. The wait at California Pizza Kitchen can be quite long at dinner time.

Kinokuniya is a Japanese book store with a large selection of magazines, children's books, office supplies and stationery. I go for the stationery and other knick knacks since I can't read Japanese. It is even more expensive than Maido, but the selection is different. I was excited to fing Nyanko here.
