The hot tip is the Lunch Buffet weekdays 11-3, Sat&Sun 12-3, all-you-can-eat for $7.95
This is how I was introduced to the restaurant and now I've been enjoying their free delivery (Fremont area) during the dinner (5-10 daily) hours. There are several appetizers, we were not too impressed with the calamari but the Samosas are so yummy. The spiced rices are delicious and I imagine the tandoori breads to be good also. There is a large selection of vegetarian and vegan choices. Seven different curries with choice of veggie, paneer, chicken, lamb, fish or prawn. Also kebabs from the clay oven! Be sure to order your spice level true to size because you'll be sure to get what you order! I've been plenty happy with low to medium and I'm not afraid of some spice. Qazi's is definitely worth a try!

Fremont has so many cute stores, it's hard to choose! If you have limited time to shop or it's just not your favorite thing to do, but need to find a gift or treat yourself, definitely go to Burnt Sugar. The store is filled with lovely items from artsy notebooks, specialty make-up, unique housewares, lovely leather wallets (on sale!) to SHOES ...also on sale! The Men's selection is really good although unfortunately they are thinking of no longer carrying men's shoes (on sale)! The Women's selection is great! Most of the summery styles are on sale. And if you are thinking ahead to fall, there are some fine boots....
Burnt Sugar is easy to find, it's the store with the
coin-op rocket on the corner!

When I owned a BMW ('81 323i), I took it to Precision Motorworks. I always got good service and they had reasonable turn around time. I also liked that John the owner has had the business for a long time and was always there when I took my car in. It is located in the Interbay area, so is really convenient to Ballard, Downtown, Magnolia and Queen Anne. Another thing that I really liked was that given a little notice they provided a loaner car! Nice loaners too! I no longer own a bmw, so I haven't been to Precision for a few years although they seem to be plenty busy whenever I drive by. So they must still be doing a great job. Definitely worth checking out!

Burrito Loco Taqueria is a fine place to grab some burritos to go or to eat a good lunch or dinner and enjoy the colorful murals in the restaurant. They serve green and red salsa with the chips and the guacamole has real veggies in it. There is a choice of whole, refried or black beans and they have a large vegetarian menu which is very good. This is one of my favorite places to have chile rellenos which you can order as a side or as a dinner that comes with rice, beans and a choice of corn or flour tortillas. And, there is a kid's menu which is sure to please almost anyone. (Grilled cheese sandwiches also, just in case!) Salads? Yes-choice of. Beverages; fresh jamaica (hibiscus flower juice) or fresh lemonade, horchata (sweet, cold rice drink), lots of soft drinks including Penafiel sodas (yum), beer and wine. Everyone is very nice and service is quick. So for north-end residents and visitors, this is great place for a meal! Burrito Loco is easy to find -it's across the road from dick's drive in-- and there is nearly always parking right in front of the restaurant or in the lot for the building.

Mori Japanese Restaurant was recommended by a friend several years ago and we have been regular sushi eaters ever since. Mori has an excellent menu. There is a large sushi menu including daily specials. You can order a la carte, small rolls, larger rolls (maki), sushi bar entrees with miso soup or hand rolled temaki. Yum. And if you like the idea of sushi but not the raw fish part, there are actually plenty of vegetarian rolls and smoked salmon options!
Mori also serves noodle soups, tempuras, stir fried noodles with choice of main ingredient and many other dishes I haven't tried yet. The prices are very reasonable considering the excellent quality food.
The best deal-- the lunch specials!
The hot tip------ free dinner delivery! Friendly and fast!
lunch hours- Tues-Fri 11:30-2:30
dinner hours- Tues-Sun 5:00-10:00

The Company Store is my favorite place to buy sheets, blankets, and comforters. Here is my experience with items I have bought:
*sheets--percale-- the 220 count are smooth but not soft. Makes great comforter covers. Go for higher thread count or "sateen" for more luxury. Very durable.
*sheets--flannel-- personal favorite! Get them on sale in the "off-season" because I know I'm not the only one in Seattle who has flannels on their bed 10 months out of the year... Durable to Very Durable (the more oz.'s the softer and stronger).
*blankets--great selection, the washing instructions are always listed so if being able to machine wash (vs.dry-clean) your blankets is important, be sure and read carefully. Personal faves; washable wool blanket, eloquence pima blanket and cotton fleece blanket.
*comforters-- lots of choices! Down or a hypoallergenic fill and many fill weights for a choice in warmth levels.
AND *** it seems that just about Everything in the catalog is On Sale at least once a year! The website is easy to use and the shipping has always been on time.

Simply Desserts has the most delicious cakes! The cake menu is extensive so there must be many options for various desires. We buy cakes there a couple/few times a year and for some reason always get their basic chocolate cake (so good we just don't get tired of it). It is a good idea to call ahead at least a couple of days --more for weekends- to get the pick-up time you need and to order the size you need and any special decorations or writing you want. Also if you are just making a quick trip, you can park in the PCC parking garage and then only have to walk up the stairs at the end of that little alley, turn the corner and there you are!!!

Definitely check out Seattle Kajukenbo!
The kids program there is called 'Kung Fu Kids' and the website is www.seattlekajukenbo.com
This style is a combination of Korean Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, Kempo, and Chinese Boxing (Kung Fu). The kids also practice tumbling and games that develop hand-eye coordination and strategic thinking skills, and of course they have a fabulous time doing it! There are several class options to choose from and even if you have to wait a little while to get into a class it is really worth it. The Sifu and all the teachers are great. The kids learn so much from them. I have been especially impressed by their ability to teach so many important skills to the kids in a non-stressful and encouraging environment. My seven year old has been at the school for almost a year now and always has such a great time at her classes. The school is centrally located at 22nd and Union, and easy to get to from anywhere in Seattle. As with any school, you have to check it out for yourself, and let your child try a class. Seattle Kajukenbo teaches real skills and anyone who wants to learn, will really benefit. Self-defense skills are important!

Yay! The "Shoe Zoo" shoe store has re-opened in a brand new location!
The "Shoe Zoo" is absolutely the best shoe store for kids in the middle price range.
They always have a great stock of styles (do you want the sneakers with light ups or without? velcro fasteners or ties?....)
And they carry these styles in different widths!!! Which is often overlooked but essential for a comfortably fitting shoe --at any age.
So whether the kids need sandals, tennis shoes, dressy or good all around playtime classics this is the place to check out!
