When I was a student at the UW, I would routinely go here to rent the movies I needed to watch for my film classes and history classes (even my English Lit - don't tell!). This is a really helpful store, with TONS of movies that you can't find elsewhere. I used to live next to the original Scarecrow over on 65th and Latona, and I'm so glad that they moved to this new, larger location (long ago, but since I still remember the early 90s with their little store, this is new to me!). Great place, best selection anywhere.

This place is weird. I finally went into the Thomas Kinkade Gallery when I was at the Mall yesterday. I think his paintings are awful....mass produced flea market stuff! I saw the report on him and his empire on 60 Minutes and thought, wow, he's just exploiting a market, so good for him. Except that he sells this bad art as his own that he painted himself, which is totally false. They hire art school people to paint these, then sell them at a fantastic profit. It's just paint by numbers at a ridiculously expensive price tag, and under the cover of Christianity. How totally unChristian. The store itself in layout is ok, kinda small and packed so that they can get the most money what they're paying in rent per square foot. I have no problem that people get taken in by this "non-art" garbage, I just have a problem that this Company does it in the name of Jesus.

I bought my previous Toyota Camry from Bob Bridge. I got a great salesperson, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. I traded that Toyota in for my Toyota Previa minivan that I have now, because my family grew. If you are a Previa owner, you know exactly how weird and backwards these bizarre, incredible vehicles are! Ancient Japanese secret!
Bob Bridge's service department is absolutely fantastic...when I had questions or a lightbulb went out, they would do it for free (after I bought the $1 part). All I had to do was drive my car/van into the service bay and someone was always there to help me out.
I had to have my entire front differential replaced (standard on AWD Previas over 100k), and even though it was expensive ($2400), I got fantastic service, Toyota first market parts straight from Japan, a guarantee on the work, quick, friendly service and a fun free loaner car for a week. When you have a repair this big on such a weird (but oh so very reliable and inexpensive to maintain workhorse) van, it's worth it to get it done right.
I live in another city now, but I'd for sure travel back here to buy my next Toyota if my beloved Previa ever poops out (doubtful) or my partner finally splurges on my dream car like he promises, a land cruiser! Toyotas rule!

Love the food, love the selection, especially for kids foods. BUT the people who shop here drive me NUTS! I agree with the other poster who made the comment about "cart jockeys" with road rage here....I only go here during the quieter hours of the daytime (if at all - I'm increasingly turned off by Whole Foods and prefer PCC), when my kids are mellowed and fed and there aren't too many people here. It's hard to enjoy such a good store and be able to shop with all the angry, harried, over-privileged, "A listers" here sometimes. I prefer Metro Market and PCC way more than this place for a normal and organic shopping experience. And lower prices too. Just can't beat the PCC laidback and easy shopping experience.

Every time I wanted to go here, they were closed (Sundays). I'm a big fan of SVDP stores, since they typically have the lowest prices and I always donate my stuff to them. Plus they're Catholic and have a great social justice mission of helping the poor. I finally got to try them out yesterday, on my everlasting quest for baby and kids clothes. I hate to buy new unless I have to or unless the prices are too good to pass up, like at Old Navy. I found plenty of designer threads here, at really good prices as usual. I got a few tai chi and pilates videos, brand new shrink wrapped for 99 cents each, and a few pair of Gap and Children's Place jeans plus a few books and baby tops, all for $4.32!
The only "con" to this particular SVDP is the location - it's in a pretty seedy neighborhood (Lincoln). Lock your doors, go during a busy, sunny day, and have fun here.

Instead of traveling to Seattle to look for my feng shui golden money frogs, three coins, jade, etc, I come here. This is a crowded, overstocked little Vietnamese shop with owners who don't speak very much English. I just point. They are sweet older folks and they always have what I want, plus they barter! I love this little crowded shop!

I went looking for an auto supply store and saw this one from the freeway. It's huge. It's kinda in a bad part of town, near McChord on Pac Hwy. The store has a really nice layout, plenty of products, low shelves, and very helpful staff. Open later on Sundays too, which is a help.
I had a question and the nice older gentleman helped me to get the right product to solve it, along with a few helpful tips on how to use it. I really appreciate that - that I didn't just blindly buy a product hoping it would work. I kinda know my way around my weirdo Previa but I appreciate the help that a mechanic-type can give me!

I was strolling in the mall yesterday when I happened to look down the corridor to see a Jamba Juice at the very far end. I'm trying to lose some of my baby weight, so I wanted to eat something healthy. I was going to head down to the Nordstrom espresso stand when I saw them. So I went there. I've never been to a Jamba Juice before.
I ordered a green tea drink with a femme boost. Delicious!!! Granted, it was something like $5 for it. So it was my meal....even though it was a very tasty drink. I would hesitate to order one of these on a regular occasion, only because they are so expensive for a foo-foo healthy Orange Julius.
I wanted to get a drink with more veggies in it, but they don't have those. They only have fruit based drinks, which is not good for those of us on the South Beach Diet! :) There's not really any room for making your own drink like a traditional juice bar either....they are a franchise and they operate like one.
And you can call your drink order in ahead of time and they have curbside pickup service - how cool is that? You just have to maneuver in mall traffic to get there!

I purposely come here to get the Wonder Bread since they closed the local bakery last year and have to truck the bread in from Ogden, Utah. It really sucks that they did that, because they pulled all of the Wonder bread out of the local grocery stores. You have to go the outlets in order to get it. How ridiculous is that?
I love this little outlet and I'm glad it's still around! Who's the dummy CEO who chose to ruin such a good brand??? Anyway, this is right across the street from the Southern Kitchen on Sprague and 7th, so it's a treat to get cheap bread here and then go to dinner at the SK. :)

I'm so glad that this store is here in Bell Square. They have the hard to find items that Babies R Us and the other major retailers don't or won't carry. This is a higher end store, but for some reason, I don't feel like I get ripped off there. I always find a good deal here. They have great sales, and a great selection for such a small space. I like their selection of safety items, *quality* car seats and strollers that you get your money's worth on, etc. Exactly what you need and nothing else....I like the practicality of it all. You get what you pay for!
