But as long as you don't mind elbowing your way back to the bar where they pour, you'll have a great time. This place does tastings on Sunday, Mondays and Thursdays with a big Wednesday tasting in the middle of the month. They have fun, eclectic wines, and great cheese, meat, bread, and crackers to go with it.

You've got to go to the wine bar here. Excellent tastings. My boyfriend and I love to go have either the red or the white nicely priced, generously poured tasting, and we usually get the polenta appetizer. The sommelier is always attentive and they all love to talk, and it's easy to get sucked into a conversation with someone else at the tiny sit down bar.

I know Ross isn't the greatest store. It certainly has its flaws, like when you find something you like and you take it into the dressing room only to put it on and find some sort of giant stain or missing seam. And sometimes you go in for, say, a pair of sandals, and they don't actually have any sandals. That's bad. But if you've got about an hour, and you're not really sure what you're looking for, you'll eventually find something great. Generally. Especially dresses and skirts. There are rows and rows of them, but if you're meticulous about it, you'll find a steal.

That's the real name of this restaurant. I went there the other night and it was amazing. Be sure you've got the cash to back it up, but it was absolutely worth it. Their Chilean Sea Bass was served to the Emperor and Empress of Japan when they visited LA and you can tell why. It's almost like a butter fish, but better. The lighting is low, and the decor is pleasing, and the waitress speaks French. All the dishes are French Japanese fusion which actually works out really well.

My friends and I used to go to Duke's. But once we all turned 21, I think we've maybe gone back there once. Now we all completely bypass the restaurant and head straight for the bar. There's an indoor and an outdoor, but we always sit outside, in the sand, in the danger of having the waves come up over the glass wall and dousing us (which I have, in fact, seen happen, though not to us). They have Taco Tuesdays, and other various days as such, all of which aren't the greatest of bargains, but you can't beat the atmosphere. The service is slow, and sometimes it's hard to get a table, but too bad, you're already in Malibu. The nachos and the drinks make it all worth it, though. Be sure to go early, they close at like 9:30.

When I first started visiting LA on a weekly basis, this place fascinated me. There's nothing like it in the Bay Area where I had come from. It's a burger stand, but it has this giant menu full of Greek food, and vegetarian food, and who knows what else. Now that I realize that that's nothing special in this town, I'm not quite as taken with it, but if it's nearby, I'm always up for it. This one, literally right next to Paramount Studios, is like an off-sight cafeteria, so it's a good bet that if you don't see a celebrity, you'll at least be eating among people in the biz.

Check it out. It's the size of a two car garage, and the drinks are about $10 a pop and all they serve are tiki drinks (no beer or wine, don't even ask, you'll get laughed at), but you'll have so much fun. There's so much camaraderie at this bar. It's only open Wed.-Sat., and only 'til 1. But you can smoke there, 'cause its owner operated, just the father and son. The grandfather was the original Tiki bartender of Southern California. Oh, and no PDA's. Either one. But you'll get smashed off of about one and half drinks.

If you have a Volvo, and you’re looking for a reasonably priced to fix it, and people that know what they're doing, this is the place. To get lower in price than that, you have to go to someone "underground." And I can't tell you their name. But these guys will get the job done, for less than your dealer will, and not break your car. They're close for lunch, which is annoying, but they're the best I've found around here.

Oh, I love this place. I can never remember what this place is called, and I'd probably mispronounce it anyway, but whenever I want to go there, I tell my boyfriend to take me to the "big table place." See, there's this big communal table in the middle, and everyone has to sit together. Sometimes it's weird but mostly it's fun, especially when there are celebrities there, which is pretty much every other time we go. The humus plate is my favorite, and the non-sparkly apple cider. The sandwiches are great, and all their breakfast stuff. Awesome bread. They're all over the world, but I have one in my backyard and I feel so privileged.

One of the things I don't like about this place is that it's always cold in there. They leave the doors open, and the whole place is freezing. And don't get me started on sitting outside. I know, I know, I'm a wuss, but I've been living in LA for so long now, I don't know how to warm myself. Anyway, this place is good. It's always fun to order a drink (non-alcoholic) 'cause there are so many, and they have a magazine stand. Anywho, try pasta and one of the organic drinks, find a table away from the draft, and relax.
