Mack and Manco's Pizza is a fixture in Ocean City life. They have several pizza places on the boards and everyone eats there at least once during their vacation. The pizza is ok - not the best or the worse and the service is ok. Eating there is convenient, so that's why we got there.

Gillian's Wonderland Pier is a don't miss it adventure for your small child. They have a ton of rides for the preschool set. Clanking cars, clanking boats, clanking cars, clanking trains...get the picture? The tickets are expensive and the place is jammed. Don't bring a stroller if you can help it. My kids always say that the monorail train is the most fun ride!

I found this school on the recommendation of a friend and it is a jewel. It's small - just three classes - a 3 year old room, a 4 year old room and a 5 year old room. The facility is large and full of light. The teachers endeavor to have a well rounded curriculum which involves fee play, outdoor play, socialization and "book learning." They have been operating for over 40 years, they must be doing something right!

The Haverford Township Free Library is a terrific community resource. The children's area has regular, high quality programs for preschoolers, which makes this a popular place most mornings for the under 5 set. The staff is caring and helpful and the atmosphere is conducive to bringing young children: lots of board books, toys and small chairs!

Main Line Health Center is a good neighbor. Not only does it have doctor and dentist offices like you would expect, there are nice extras. There is an on site lab that does x-rays and blood and urine cultures, so if your doctor orders tests, you can just walk right down the hall to get them done. They also have an adult day center and a gym right there. They have a community room where they regularly hold seminars and such for the community , and at Halloween they had an open house for the kids. Right on, MLHC!

Water world is a little locally owned water park in Phoenixville that is a delightful place to spend the day. They have a few water slides and a pool to swim in. It's not a huge place like Dorney Park's water park or anything, but for a local place, it does the trick. Admission is reasonable and you can do their water slides over and over. I have always had a good experience here.

The Freedom Foundation in Valley Forge is a nice place to rent a space for a meeting. The Freedom Foundation is dedicated to educating people about American heritage and citizenship, but they also have space available, decorated in Americana theme, for groups to rent out. I found the place to b quaint, neat, and the catering acceptable.

The Roosevelt Mall is an open air shopping mall in Northeast Philadelphia. What this means is that this is virtually heaven for a teenager. They can cruise through the mall in their car and yell out the window at their friends that are walking along at the mall. As you can imagine, if you are not 15 - it can get old quickly. Roosevelt Mall is not a "destination" mall, but serves the needs of locals nicely with a Strawbridges, some clothing shops and a Rita's among its' highlights.

The nice thing about shopping at the Gallery is that it is so easy to get to. Their is an el stop right below it! They have many good shops and a large food court. Be sure to go near the Christmas holidays when they have it decorated really pretty. Many old favorite type stores with a few unique additions.

From the brochures for the Plim plaza that we reviewed prior to booking our vacation, the place looked luxurious and sunny. In reality, the rooms smelled like smoke and were average. One person in our group paid extra for ocean view and her ocean view window was covered with a pool. They have tropical birds in the foyer that look harassed. The only really nice feature was the outdoor pool.
