Kutztown airport is the only place in the area where you can arrange to have a glider ride. What is a glider ride? A glider is a small plane-like vehicle with no motor. A small plane tows you up in the air and then let's you glide back down to the ground (with a professional navigator steering). Reasonably priced when you consider its a once in a lifetime type thing!

They have a good selection on the menu and everything I have tried there has been good. They have somewhat of a local "scene" in the bar area, a good place to meet and mingle.

Ok, I'm not big into trains, but my three year old is. They had tons of model trains set up. The best part is that they have buttons on the outside of the displays where kids can push and make the trains run or the accessories move. He liked the small little Thomas display the best, which can be bested by any toy store's display (sigh). One difficulty: their bathrooms are being repaired, so they have no facilities for going to the bathroom or diaper changing right now, which posed a problem for us!

Wonderland Pier is so much fun. It's always crowded and a little on the expensive side, but my kids talk about it all year long. They have a covered area full of kiddie rides, the highlight of which is a monorail featuring Thomas the train. They also have rides for older kids out outside. Definitely a fun place, get some kettle corn (yum) while you are there!

Dutch Wonderland is open for special hours during the Christmas season and it's a great family outing. They have about 10 of their rides open including the train and the merry-go-round. Everything is lit up with twinkling lights. Santa is available (for and extra charge) and the princess of Dutch Wonderland has regular storytimes inside, just when you need a break from the cold! Make sure to get some yummy kettle corn!

This is a nice place to be able to take the kids after they have had to endure hours of mom browsing through the merchandise in all the little peddler's village stores. They have a very nice large merry-go-round and other amusements for children. All in all this is a nice addition to Peddler's Village, and I have found it to be fairly uncrowded on weekdays.

Funworld is a HUGE place full of all sorts of amusements. Picture the entire boardwalk in one building. Outside they have go-karts (in season) inside the have three floors of pinball and video games. They have a junk food snack counter. At times it can get really busy here, but it is really so big that it takes a lot of people to make it feel crowded.

Hershey's Chocolate World is a fun and free thing to do if you are in the Hershey area. The ride at times has a long wait, but it's interesting. Open year round, so when Hershey Park is closed, chocolate world is open. They also have a little cafe and then a whole bazaar of chocolate and Hershey insignia items to purchase. A fun hour or two.

Tried out the Oasis Family Fun Center this weekend and loved it. The Oasis has an indoor miniature golf course, which is perfect for a winter afternoon. My nephew loves miniature golf, so this was the perfect treat during a season where golf is usually not on the agenda. They also have a rock climbing wall, perfect for older kids. They have a 3 story climbing/playground structure with a special area just for toddlers that all the kids enjoyed! Reasonably priced and nicely designed.

Gillian's Wonderland Pier is a don't miss it adventure for your small child. They have a ton of rides for the preschool set. Clanking cars, clanking boats, clanking cars, clanking trains...get the picture? The tickets are expensive and the place is jammed. Don't bring a stroller if you can help it. My kids always say that the monorail train is the most fun ride!
