The tables at the back of this deli-style restaurant (sibling to the upscale Il Grano next door) are tucked away by a staircase in a low-ceilinged room, and feel like the kind of spot for a family meeting to take place. They serve up phenom gnocchi, pastas, and sandwiches in this spot. Also offered are mouth-watering desserts freshly baked, and a variety of goods you can buy and prepare yourself at home. One of my all-time faves when I lived on the West Side.
