Redendo's Pizza has the best pie in the area... and they have a lot of competition! You can get take-out, delivery, or dine in their small storefront in this strip mall. They have absolutely the best brick oven crust- crispy, yet delicately flavored. The sauce is outstanding as well- homemade marinara that is just perfect. The toppings are good, the service excellent. No complaints about here.

I don't know if this restaurant has changed since my last experience there a few years ago. I went with my friends and all of us were disappointed with our meals. My friend even had a BUG in her soup!!! I'm serious. It was the most disgusting. Since that experience we have called Chuck's Yuck's..... I would never go back here. The service was rude to boot- they must have thought we were kidding around, but they didn't even try to replace my friend's meal or offer anything complimentary.

La Quinta Hotel in Irvine is an alright establishment. They have many rooms of ok quality- not superb, but clean enough with no serious problems. They also have a nice pool area. However this hotel is kind of in the middle of nowhere- nearby is an Ikea and no restaurants. Unfortunately it's not the most convienient in this respect- but however they have good amenities like wireless internet and cheap prices.

The Westfarms Mall is one of the best malls in all of Connecticut. It used to be small, but since it's expansion in the late 90s it has surpassed other area malls with the quantity and quality of stores. They have many upscale stores like Restoration Hardware, but they also have cheaper stores like h&m and Forever 21 so that you can get your trendy fix. Restaurants include a Rainforest Cafe among others- pretty nice.

The Brass Mill Center is a relatively new mall with all the amenities like a multiplex cinema and areas to entertain children. However, this mall seems to be overrun with mall rats- most of which flock to the low quality stores. There is nothing extroidinary here- they have an h&m but that is the only store worth mentioning. The rest of the stores seem to be poorly stocked with spotty sales. There are better quality malls in the area.

The Danbury Fair Mall is one of the best malls in all of CT. It used to be one of the biggest in the state- it isn't any longer, but it's big enough. They have a great many stores like Pottery Barn, Macy's, the Gap, The Body Shop etc. It is a great place to go- plenty of parking and a nice environment. They have a huge food court and tons of entertainment for kids as well.

The painted pony is a cute restaurant located in the small town of Bethlehem. Here they serve traditional comfort food dishes for breakfast lunch and dinner. It's pretty inconvienient to get to and hardly worth the trip out of the way, but I would stop here if you are in the area. The comfort food is rich and flavorful, but some food is a bit on the greasy side. It is also a bit pricey for this quality.

Edmund Town Hall may not be the most modern theatre- they still have balcony seating and uncomfortable chairs. But they have the cheapest seats in the area- typically right before a movie is released on DVD it makes an appearance here. They have only one or two different features a week, but usually they get all the big hits. The seats here are only $2 and for that price it is worth seeing the movies you weren't sure were worth a movie ticket, but wanted to see on a big screen anyways. Cheap snacks and popcorn too!

The Bushnell in Hartford is a great venue to see a live show or play. It is historical- with classic blue theatre seating and a lovely painted ceiling. You will feel like you've gone to a very classy establishment if you choose to see a show here. They often get Broadway shows right after they head off Broadway at a fraction of the cost of the NYC shows. Also very easy to get to in Downtown Hartford.

When the Hartford Civic Center had a purpose- home to the NHL Hartford Whalers- it was better upkept and current. Now it is an eyesore of concrete and antiquated cavernous spaces. The conventions they have here are probably better suited for smaller venues or better space design. The Civic Center Mall is a sad sight indeed- only a couple stores and restaurants. The Civic Center arena is huge, but uncomfortable seating, and overpriced drinks make it not worth seeing a show here.
