Cafe Brazil has several locations, and the original is on Central Expressway at Mockingbird. When it comes to local popular chains, the original is usually the best (as in this case), but the Richardson location offers some benefits of its own.
First of all, this location is not open 24 hours like the original location. On the weekdays, it's open until midnight, and on the weekends (Friday night through Sunday night) it's open 24 hours.
The Mockingbird location is usually always crowded, which may appeal to social people who want to see everyone and be at a busy place. The Richardson location is almost never crowded and you'll almost always get seated right away, which is good for people who don't want the hassle of a wait.
Both locations have indoor and outdoor seating, and their menu is identical. The quality of the food is pretty much the same. I honestly haven't had anything bad on their menu at either location, but my personal favorites (which seem to be popular with others as well) are chips & queso or artichoke spinach dip for appetizer, any of the quesadillas with sweet potatoes or any chicken dish for entree, and the pancrepes or the french toast for dessert. They also have a large variety of their own gourmet coffee if you're into that.
Overall, I highly recommend Cafe Brazil at both the Mockingbird location for a more exciting atmosphere and at Richardson for low-key (and more convenient if in North Dallas) late-night dining.

Both places have pretty good service, but I would say the service is better in Richardson probably because they are able to take their time. It always seems that the servers are pretty rushed at the Mockingbird location, but if you're out with friends late at night you probably won't even notice.

I have been to Car Spa twice for exterior washes. They don't hand wash the exterior, it all goes through a drive-thru and the machine washes it. However once I purchased the Ultimate Full Service Wash for about $30, and they were supposed to clean the interior by hand, as well as add some extra features (like tire shine, waxing the car, etc). THEY DID NOT! You can watch the guy from the window, and after the car wash drive-thru they just vacuumed the inside. Then they came and got me to get my car!
I asked for the manager once I got to my car, and showed him the dust all over the dash and console, and leaves that were still on the carpet of my car. I didn't even smell air freshener and that was another thing they were supposed to add. I told him I didn't even see anyone wax the car or anything after the car wash. All he offered me was another free wash. NO, I want what I paid for, not another bad car wash!!
Bottom Line: If you want their cheapy exterior wash only, then go ahead -- or go somewhere else with a machine that's cheaper than $7. But if you want the interior of your car cleaned, I suggest going somewhere else. The Coit & Frankford Car Spa does a horrible job!!

I used to love this place when I was a UT student in Austin. Their shrimp dishes are really great, and so are their noodles. They also have a great outdoor-style patio in the back that is really nice to hang out or go on dates. The only complaint I have is that I have heard from other people that they haven't been treated well by the management. It personally hasn't happened to me, but I've heard two or three stories about it. Overall, it's worth a shot, but if you have coupons or special requests that require you to deal with management, I say no comment!!

This is a no-frills Vietnamese place that is great for a quick, cheap, and healthy meal. The best dishes I've had here are the Pho (Beef Soup, #P15, which has onions inside and is served with bay leaves and sprouts) and the Vermicelli bowls (Beef, chicken, or shrimp served with really thin white rice noodles and some fresh veggies). For appetizers the spring rolls are great and come with peanut sauce, or they also have traditional crispy egg rolls. They have Chinese food, but I personally don't like it -- they specialize in Vietnamese so you know they do that best. The desserts are good if you like Asian desserts (the ones with red bean, green bean, or jello), but if you're not into strange desserts I would suggest you pass on dessert.
They have lots of tables so there's never a wait. Your food is usually ready in 5 minutes, definitely not longer than 10 minutes. There are several TVs around and they usually put on either the news or comedy shows. The staff is friendly but doesn't speak much english, so if you're not familiar with Vietnamese food, I would try the two I mentioned above. If you try those and like them, you can try the Spicy Beef Soup which is a little different than the other Beef soup but also delicious.
Also one more thing I would suggest is to try the iced coffee. I am not talking about the Thai Coffee -- that has some milk in it -- but the regular iced coffee that is sometimes described as the "French style." Really good!
Overall, I suggest this place for some cheap, healthy food. There are other locations in the DFW area, so you should check out all of them!

This restaurant is a nice little Japanese and Chinese restaurant in the Asia-town area of Richardson. They have a mixed menu of both Japanese, Sushi, and Chinese food (and possibly other types).
I have been here for all three types of food. For sushi, I would say it's just okay. The fish is not the freshest I've had, and the rolls are just the normal ones you see everywhere (not much innovation). But the sushi chef is nice, and there appear to be some regulars that go in there often. They also have dollar sushi days, but the sushi on those days is like 1/2 the size of a regular sushi!
The cooked Japanese food and Chinese food is good. I think that's really what I would suggest to order at this restaurant. They have all kinds of dishes and if you need help deciding, the waitresses usually help.
The atmosphere at the restaurant is also nice. They have a large tree in the restaurant with lights on it, a sushi bar, and a private room for parties. The owner walks around and greets people she knows or asks newbies how they like the food, and she is often very friendly and will help you decide on a dish. As far as the crowd, I usually see Asian people there which is a good sign and means they probably also serve some traditional dishes. Also I've heard that some college students come in for the drink and sake specials. Overall, I'd recommend this place if you're in the area.

I used to be a regular at Sushi Sake a few years back. The manager was kind of weird and the service was spotty, but I put that aside because of the great sushi they had (also take into account there were limited choices for sushi about 6 years ago).
I moved to Austin, and came back last year. The service now is just horrible. I guess people found out about Sushi Sake and now the staff thinks they are doing people a favor by serving them sushi. The waitresses are rushed and never smile or look you in the eye, and they barely talk to you. The manager is even ruder than ever. She is pushy and acts like it's a burden to find you a table when you walk in the door. I've even seen her yell at people who were just inquiring about getting a table. She's actually the owner's wife so she apparently doesn't care what you think.
The worst part is, the sushi isn't even as great anymore!! There used to be a really good chef there who I think is still there now, but he is definitely slipping (he is actually getting kind of old now). The other sushi chefs are just okay, but I have found other great sushi places nearby that are cheaper and provide much better service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone anymore.

This Korean restaurant is a great place to go if you are not familiar with Korean food or live too far from the "Korea Town" area near I-35.
For Korean food, I would definitely suggest the Kal Bi (prime short ribs) or the Bul Go Gi (shredded ribeye steak). A great appetizer is the Chap Chae, which is stir-fried glass noodles with veggies.
The sushi is great. The nigiri (2-piece per order raw fish) is fresh, and the rolls are innovative and interesting. I suggest the Mt. Fuji roll, which has really delicious shredded crab on the outside, the Naan Special, and the usuals Caterpillar Roll, Volcano Roll, and Shrimp Tempura. Also ask them what they have on special -- they sometimes have rolls that the sushi chefs are trying out, which are also delicious.
The atmosphere is really classy and there is even a bar for after-hours. As far as the crowd, I usually see a mix of all types of people in the restaurant. The bar side usually has a late-20s to late-30s "sophisticated" crowd hanging out. I think Naan is really the best bar to go to near the Legacy/Tollway area, and definitely the best sushi outside of downtown.
FYI, their real website is www.naanrestaurant.com, not the website above.

Masala Wok is an innovative fusion-cuisine restaurant in a semi fast-food setting. The menu has Indian food, Chinese food, and food that has elements from both Indian and Chinese cuisines.
The most popular dishes there seem to be Chicken Tikka Masala and the Blazing Masala Noodles. Whether or not you like it is up to your own taste buds -- while I loved the Chicken Tikka Masala, I could not get used to the mixture of the Chinese noodles with Masala sauce. The dishes are all tasty and prepared well, but you really should try different things to figure out what you like and don't like.
Expect to see an atmosphere mixed with mostly UTD college students, local Indian families, and some Indian-food lovers.
