Taco Bell offered gift cards a few years ago and I thought it would be a great idea for my college student. I asked if it could be used anywhere and was told yes, even San Diego where he was. Of course, my son eventually gave it back because he couldn't use it in San Diego and he couldn't even use it in Riverside or San Bernardino, which is the area that this group owns (and who sold me the gift card.) I called the shop I got it at, I called the area office, and I called the national office. I called more than 10 times - no one would take responsibility. I will NEVER eat at Taco Bell again EVER! Nor will I ever buy a gift card - if I can't see the "dollars" I'm not taking the chance! These are just a rip off to make easy money!!

The patio at the Mission Inn is probably my all time favorite place to eat out and we eat out a lot! The food is wonderful, the patio is heaven and the historical ambiance (and ghostly dining companions, lol) are magical! The service can be as fast or slow as you ask your waiter for and you never know who might be dining with you.

Hubby's very picky company holds their manager's dinners here because they can impress the big bosses when they come in from out of town. Top quality fresh ingredients make the meal but you pay for what you get. What makes it very worthwhile is the staff and atmosphere. First rate without the pretense or stuffiness - but a very romantic, jazzy setting. Love to come to Mario's!

I have eaten at Sevilla's several times and always enjoy it, especially the aoili and rojas spreads with bread appetizers. But the best times are in the bar eating tapas, drinking sangria royale and wishing I could dance to the flamenco music. I feel so exotic and sexy and the hubby loves it! Food is good, atmosphere is not your typical dining experience and the alcohol is great too. Oops, gotta add- not a quick dinner type place - the Spanish attitude of leisurely dining is definitely prevelant, although I don't know how they do for lunch.

I always know it's a good car wash when I see the CHP and sheriff cars cuz they are huge contracts that everyone wants and are choosy besides. Hand Wash has guys with wash mits soaping and sprays to rinse. Then the dry guys use air hoses to get all the drips out of the cracks so the shine isn't spoiled as soon as you drive off. They are easy to get to - right off the I- 215 at Washington (right by the I-10) and they have coupons in the local papers all the time. They have always done a good job for me.

On vacation in another state, my family still picked Outback to eat - and it is consistent! That is good for us cuz we like it. The Victoria steak is perfect for me and the chocolate desert is worth the week's worth of extra exercise! In Arizona, we got it to go and they packaged each part (whipped cream, ice cream, brownie, etc) in a separate container - too cute. Gotta give props to the Wallaby Darned - peach and champagne yummmyness. On the down side, it isn't inexpensive and it is Always crowded!

La Pasta Italia is where all the high end restaurants buy their ravioli (wild mushroom, lobster, pumpkin, sausage and lots of others). They have great pasta, lasagna, sauces and even Italian sandwiches, although the pasta is my favorite. They even have a deli and tables for eating in. Great prices, family owned - friendly staff, easy in and out. Last Christmas I put together a basket of Italian goodies for a gift swap from here and it was a Huge Hit!

This is one of my kids' favorite place to eat and listen to old time juke boxes. Burgers (including turkey for health conscious), fries, shakes and flavored cokes are offered. It is the fries and vanilla cokes and thick shakes that are the highlight, although now that more fast food places have figured out that real flavor counts in soda and shakes, Betty's doesn't stand out quite as much. The old fashioned wall mounted jukeboxes are so much fun to browse and has increase the kids' music taste and knowledge so it benefits us all!

I first tried this restaurant when they got involved with the Health Dept's Healthy for You program to create healthy dine out food choices. They worked with standards to increase vitamins by adding cabbage instead of lettuce, using black beans and less fat, etc. Gotta say the food is wonderful with lots of choices for veggies and good health without being obnoxious about it! Friday is Fish taco day and they are packed. I love the amigo burritos with cabbage (beans, rice & cheese). And I had to put together a quick reception for 100 for my brother's funeral and they catered, doing a spectacular job for a decent price. Everyone raved about how good the food was too, which is says a lot since it was a funeral reception and you don't usually hear those things there. The place is commonly packed at lunch time since it is very popular with LomaLindaites but they are pretty quick. After lunch time, they are less speedy but its worth the wait since it is made just for you.

Sayaka's s a pretty little restaurant that has good japanese food. My daughter took a group of friends for her birthday to the grill (think Benihana's) and had a good time. A friend's mother is japanese loves the sushi bar (I hate sushi so can't testify, although my unsophisticated family likes it here too). And we have eaten on the restaurant side too- teriaki, bento boxes, and stuff - all very well prepared, with the beautiful presentation that I expect from the Japanese. The only drawback is the service is SLOW!! So if you want a long leisurely meal, this is a good choice but avoid if you have an hour or less!
