The Minnesota Zoo is an all-day event with all they have to see, both inside and out.
When you pay your admission/parking, you will receive a daily schedule and zoo map. We always take a quick look over, so we can decided what we want to see and when. Some attractions are at opposite ends of the zoo, so you want to manage your time a little.
We seen the bird show for the first time on our last visit and I can't say enough about the fun we had. I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but I will say that birds do fly free in the auditorioum - right over your head!
The outside animals are grouped by region - they had a few newcomers this year, so that was fun to see.
The dolphin show is also always a hit - they have a new baby as well.
Great food options, they have the imax and the main gift shop is pretty fun to browse through.

The pizza's cook up in about 15 - 20 minutes. They also have coupons frequently, so make sure to check your local ads or call and ask what their specials are.

You can get a french roast or decaf and now they serve a cafe roast which is nutty and rich (it smells delicious). Coffee condiments include: light creamer, 2% milk, skim milk, ground chocolate and cinnamon.
As most know, Au Bon Pain has delicious baked goods. Their muffins are trans fat free and have lots of fresh nuts, fruit, etc... I favor the cranberry walnut. You can also get bagels and hot sandwiches.
After 3:00 PM you can get 50% off all their baked goods.

This is a great Japanese restaurant near Downtown Minneapolis. The atmosphere is warm and the staff are very friendly and will go out of your way to get the experience you desire.
The menu is varied and consists of beef and chicken entrees as well as seafood and a sushi bar.
The broiled teriyaki salmon is very tender and flaky and the sauce is yummy. It's fun to watch the meals cooked table side and the view of the river is very nice. Prices of the entrees vary between $15 - $20.

Joy luck has great Lemon Chicken and Chicken Fried Rice. We get take-out here a few times a month. The food always arrives hot and fresh. We have only had one negative experience with them, which was when we got shrimp fried rice instead of chicken fried rice - the delivery man had to bring it back and make a new order, so there was a bit of a wait.
They also have a nightly buffet that's ok - not spectacular, but alright. The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly.
Note: For delivery - you have to have a min $15 order.

If you like Green eggs - this is the place for you. I went for breakfast and ordered a meal with eggs. When the food arrived, I was surprised that the edges of my mine were green/blue. When I asked the waitress why my eggs were like that, she said she wasn't sure and asked if I wanted her to bring them back and have the cook make new ones. I said I would pass and that I would just take a refund. I had to go up to the manager to have him approve it and he didn't want to take my meal off the check. I couldn't believe it.
I should of just said "I do not want green eggs and ham, I do not want them Sam I am".

This is a great pharmacy. I have to go to fill a monthly prescription and each visit they have provided me quick and friendly service.
A few times I have had insurace issues and they have always been able to solve the issue so I could still get my prescription that day. It's also nice to be able to shop for household or gift items at the same time I am picking up my prescription.

I go with my daughter frequently and we both usually order breakfast food. I am amazed at how each time, the food is cooked to exact specification.
The Wait staff are fast and friendly. Prices are an average of $6 per meal and kids eat free on Tueday and Sat from 4 - 10PM.

I first went here with my daughter and we had a wonderful time.
This is a small ceramics studio where you can paint an item of you choice right there in the studio. Items they have to select from are: small/large plates, cups,large and small bowls, picture frames, decorative boxes/dishes and much more.
You only pay for the item you buy - prices start at $8 and can rise considerably depending on how big of a piece you select. Me and my daughter chose a cup and a plate and spent under $20.
There are many styles/colors of glazes to choose from as well as brushes of all sizes and other tools to create paint effects on your masterpiece.
They have actual tiles that have been fired of all the glaze colors, so you can get an idea of what the colors will look like (the paint looks very different fired than it does fresh from the bottle.)
You can take as long as you like to make your creation. When your done, you need put your name on the back of the item and will have to come back in a day or so to pick it up. If your driving a distance to get here, this can be a bother.
I really appreciate the help that we received from the staff on techniques using the paint/tools, it was very helpful. They also have examples of items that are finished out in the open and in books, so you can get more creative ideas of what you would like to create.
This is something that you can do alone, with a friend or with a group. They had a birthday party group of 6 girls while were there - they were having a blast!
