I can't say from experience how authentically Australian the Sunburnt Cow is, though there is kangaroo and vegemite on the menu, but what is important is that the food is good and the price is right. Of course, the attempt at rustic outback charm is there as well.
Mondays are 555 nights, $5 food, 5 hours of music and $5 drinks. Wednesdays, on the other hand, is "Cinema Down Udder" night, with free beer and popcorn to go with an Aussie flick. However, even if you're not able to make it on a special night any day of the week will find you an enjoyable meal, fast friendly service and a bit of Aussie charm in the middle of NYC.

For some great noodles at a pretty great price, its all about Momofuku. The atmosphere is casual and the place is always packed, no doubt due to some fantastic word of mouth. After all, there are few better places to get noodles in NYC. Personally, I think the Momofuku ramen and the BBQ pork buns are to die for. Wash it all down with some sake and you'll have a dinner experience that'll leave you more than satisfied.

There's even the option of making a customizable treat basket for loved ones who perhaps are fond of Bazzini's nuts and other delicacies and gourmet treats yet perhaps are unable to get their themselves.

I'm not a big fan of dairy products but, if you are, Joe's Dairy is the place for you. Their assortment of cheeses is amazing but better yet all of it is old-fashioned and handmade. Everyone who's ever been to Joe's seems to rave about their fresh mozzarella.
There's also a charm to Joe's, no doubt due to its long history and passion for creating some of the most renowned cheese in NYC.

Lunettes Et Chocolat is a unique one of a kind store that perfectly personifies NYC's diversity.

If money is no object, Dean & Deluca is a market one can shop the day away at. However, for those of us with a budget to watch or an inability to spend close to $50 on a few simple ingredients, Dean & Deluca is a store for window shopping of the food kind.
Still, minor splurges can be made here. The Busy Bee cake is delicious and reasonably priced and my friend raves about their coffee (I believe I'm one of the few inhabitants of NYC who's never even had a sip of coffee). Also, I've paged through Dean & Deluca's cookbook and it seems to be chock full of great recipes so if you're in the mood to try some new meals in the kitchen I'd suggest picking it up.

If you're a huge fan of paninis, 'ino is a place you should add to you're list of places to check out...if you haven't already discovered their variety of delicious sandwiches by now. The food is great but the prices make things even tastier. If you're old enough, grab some of their great wine to go along with your panini to truly immerse yourself in am enjoyable dining experience. Just writing about it is making me hungry!

A restaurant named after a playing card in the deck of the Italian game Briscola, Three of Cups is a great place to dine at. Upstairs is where the food is at: fantastic brick oven pizza, delicious pasta and some homemade sangria that'll knock your socks off.
Not to mention, Tirimasu happens to be one of my all-time favorite desserts and Three of Cups makes theirs to perfection.
The lounge downstairs is a nice place to relax after your meal..or before if you're so inclined. Then again, who says you need a meal anyway? The lounge is there for the happy hour crowd any day of the week.

The brunch I had at Pink Pony was nothing to write home about. Basically, everything was acceptable but nothing worth a rave review. Service was friendly, if not a bit slow, and the food was okay, though not the best I've ever had.
In defense of Pink Pony, however, I've only been once and I find it hard to review a restaurant until I've eaten there at least a second time (unless, of course, I had experience). So, one day I'll give Pink pony another chance though in the meantime there are certainly other places I'd rather eat.

A review on Slate magazine touting La Maison Du Chocolat as the best chocolate choice for Valentines' Day lead me to try this candy shop out of sheer curiosity. I didn't have anyone I was planning to buy for but I do happen to have quite the sweet tooth, which is a good enough reason as any in my book.
As the articled warned, La Maison Du Chocolat was not cheap. Of course, looking at how gorgeous the boxes the candy comes in and how delicious everything smells, its easy to see how they can get away with it. I didn't actually buy any chocolate that day but I did indulge in a slightly pricey cup of hot chocolate...which effectively spoiled me from ever enjoying plain old Swiss Miss ever again.
Perhaps one day when I strike it rich I'll splurge on that $60 box of champange truffles but for now I'm simply stick with Lindt if I want some more "upper class" chocolate.
