Named "best vintage spot" by Time Out, Zachary's Smile is full to the brim with great vintage finds. However, what really stands out about this store is that it has many on of a kind treasures, partially due to the fact that the store has its own line "Zachary's Smile Originals." By de-constructing and re-constructing a thrift-shop find, Zachary's Smile Originals brings forth a new take on many old styles.

The rich chocolate smell is one of the first things to hit you when you enter this jewel of NYC but nothing beats introducing your tastebuds to one of their delicious desserts. Their ice cream is some of the best I've ever had but their chocolates are even better. Decorated with aboriginal art, these Belgian-style chocolates are to die for. Whenever I stop in I'm sure to pick one up for my mom since she too can't get enough of these tasty chocolate-y treats.

Though obviously its impossible to best authentic British fish and chips A Salt & Battery does a commendable job bring English fare to the states.
Though seating is limited it is easy enough to carry your food, wrapped in an authentic British newspaper like it should be, to a nearby park on a nice day.
However, before you leave, don't forget to buy a deep fried mars bar for dessert!

Ever since a friend had me try crepes when I visited her in Providence I've been hooked on these delicious French pastries. Thankfully, I've since found a place in NYC that probably would make most Parisian chefs proud.
Rue Des Crepes makes a large assortment of crepes so everyone is likely to find one to satisfy their appetite, whether they be vegetarian or a full blown meat lover. Personally, I enjoy the savory dessert crepes -- "the sidewalk" (butter, sugar, lemon and some additional chocolate in my case) and the Sundae Crepe being my two personal favorites.
Of course, there are other dishes such as soups, salads and frites if you're not in the mood for crepes but passing one of their delicious crepes up is easier said than done.

As a lover of bagels I've eaten my fair share of these delicious carb filled breakfast treats but, in all my journeys, H&H Bagel Inc remains the place to pick one up, straight from the over.
Though I like my bagels plain and simple, with just a bit of butter, the variety at H&H Bagels certainly is not lacking. Poppy, sesame, and cinnamon raisin -- they're all there for you to enjoy.
The only downside to H&H Bagels is is popularity which can sometimes lead to long lines and with no place to sit on the run is really the only way to eat them.

Back in 2003, I went to the Roundabout Theatre with my two best friends in order to see the play "A Day in the Death of Joe Egg" starring Eddie Izzard. The theatre itself was immaculate and for $65 a pop the three of us each managed to snag a front row seat.
Though the staff in general was quite friendly and helpful, the one downside of the evening came when my camera was confiscated. Though other individuals took photos after the play was over, I was the only one the staff bothered that day. Thankfully, the camera itself was only disposable so it didn't put much of a damper on my day.
Otherwise, it was a great experience and the Q&A session the Roundabout Theatre held at the end of the night sealed the deal as I was able to walk away with my favorite comedian's signature on my playbill. I certainly would attend another play there again though the next time I'll be sure to leave all photographic equipment at home.

When on the run, Le Basket is a great place to pick up the early morning essentials. A plain bagel and some green tea is how I love to start my day but their array of breakfast foods spans the gamet. A friend of mine swears by their egg, cheese and sausage roll while their salad bar satisfies my other friends vegan diet. Best of all, the service is fast and friendly, ensuring your day will start off on a bright note.

New York Metro rated Mas Farmhouse as its 2005 editor's pick for Best 3 AM meal and while I didn't eat there at quite such an early hour its good to know that I can enjoy Mas' amazing food at even the most "ungodly" of hours. After all, where else can you enjoy oysters and champange after a long night out?
From its beautiful decor to its delicious food, Mas Farmhouse is a jewel of NYC. The one time I ate there I dined on the tastiest duck I've ever had while my friend went the brave route and tried trout piscator. Though neither of us had ever heard of it before, his tastebuds were more than satisfied by his meal, as were mine.
Mas Farmhouse will certainly put a dent in your wallet but if a memorable and mouth watering meal is what you're after its hard to beat.
