Bayshore is an apartment complex that actually looks like condo's with everyone having their own entranceway plus a porch to sit out on. Each unit has a small garden area for flowers and plants. The inside is simply gorgeous, with the layout resembling a small home. The kitchen has its own
dishwasher. The living room is quite large with a doorwall to the front patio.
The bedrooms have walk in closets. Most apartments have such a plain
floor plan but Bayshore makes you feel right at home. There is a swimming pool to
entertain the family. Located right before 23 Mile and Jefferson, it runs kitty-
corner of Brandenburg Park where there are free concerts in the summer.
The grocery store is close enough to walk to without crossing any streets.
Its a very attractive complex which doesn't cost a whole lot and it is in a
very convenient location. I highly recommend!!!!

One of Romeo's greatest secrets unfolds down Kidder. Kidder is a winding, lonely country road covered with much gravel mimicking tiny railroad
tracks which shifts your vehicle from here to there.
As I look up a wide-eyed doe passes close to the
sign that warns - No Hunting. Trees hoover above
forming natures tunnel in an effort to keep it recluse.
The road ,which has gone forgotten, bears weeds
and brush left unattended for a long period of time.
The evidence can be clearly heard as our car's tires
try to break free from the mire.
In the middle of this eerie existence there is an
ancient cemetary of not more than fifty plots. The
bold wrought iron sign states "Goodrich Cemetary"
and should pronouce no vacancy! I was so entranced
by this cemetary way out in the no where.. For several days that followed I had so many questions
as to who was buried there? I wondered if it was a
small group of friends or a family? Trying as hard
as I could I did a fervent research that left me where
I began. The only true evidence that Goodrich
Cemetary does exist is by going there. Next time I
will bring along my digital camera.
Take Van Dyke Road to 37 Mile and make a left
hand turn. Turn on Kidder Road about a mile up and
make a left. Stay on Kidder and the cemetary will
be on the right hand side before you hit Bordman Rd.

Green houses hide the sad fact that the house is old and out of date and in
dier need of the basic repairs. Howbeit big and sassy it is, this is family to
some of the finest green thumbs around. The entire front yard is full of every
type of plant imaginable for the public to purchase. For those of you who don't know our area, Van Dyke is as close to a freeway as a road can get -
a perfect place for any business with all the traffic that passes through each
day. Summer Gardens begs one to come in and take advantage of the
abundance available. I buy in hopes that the money can be used to refresh
the appearance of the old home by next year.

The Washington Street Station is soooo sweet!!! I had the wonderful opportunity to visit this shoppe once again today and everytime I walk through
their doors my heart skips with excitement. I can't wait to observe the newest
relics and piece of history associated with them. The items are authenic
and generally very very old. I enjoy learning about the devices that our forefathers used and the majority are up for sale. The Washington Street
Station is set up like a museum where you can inspect each piece individually. There is also a section of furniture which has been refinished and an artist hand-paints beautiful flowers and or vines of them. Oh my goodness, I long to own one of these pieces!
The Washington Street Station is in the heart of Downtown New Baltimore
on Washington Street between Green Street and Lake St. Clair. The hours
to visit are Wed-Sun 11 am - 5 pm. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Times have changed at Izzy's this week. They
are under new management and the wonderful news
is that they now open @ 7 a.m. just in time for breakfast!!! I ordered the "Godfather" omellette today
which was stuffed with italian sausage, green peppers,
onions, lots of cheese and topped with spaghetti
sauce. It arrived at my table with rye toast and hash
browns. The meal was entirely too big for just me and
I ended up bringing much of it home. My cousin delighted in "Grandma Myrtle's breakfast" which included two huge pork chops, eggs, toast, hash browns and apple slices. Both of our meals together
costs less than $15.00 for all that food!!! The waitress
tried to con me into buying a slice of cake but I had
no room left. As soon as I stood up I felt fat and close
to bursting at my seams but the food deserves a definite thumbs up and they will be seeing more of me and my family. I was very impressed with the decor
at Izzy's...everything very italian and I felt right at home.
They have the sensored bathrooms where you don't
have to lift a finger (ha,ha) and the aroma is a very
heavy scent of cinnamon in the commodes! How
thoughtful! There is not anything not to like about
Izzy's and I can't wait to bring along my spouse for
his assessment next time.
They are located right on the corner of Washington
and Green Street.

Oh if only all my doctor visits could be so pleasant and
quick. The Michigan Head & Spine Institute is very
well organized and my wait was only fifteen minutes
before I went in for a MRI. For those of you who are
not aware of this test it is very simple and for me,
quite relaxing. Basically I went into this tube which
surrounds your entire body and head for close to an hour of x-rays. They gave me earplugs to silence the
odd sounds of the machine. I felt as if I was on a
vibrating bed and must admit I enjoyed this little
excursion. The vibrations soothed me to sleep insomuch that the tech would have to call me to awake
because my body would move involuntarily and you
are suppose to lie still for the process. Upon completion I was given a file of the films to bring with
me to my doctor. MRI which stands for magnetic
resonance imaging can depict just about everything that
is going on in your system. It picks up what regular
x-rays fail to spot. Often times, doctors leave this test
until the very end because it is so expensive to have
done. Gratefully, my insurance will cover the costs.

After hearing all the hoopla of how wonderful the dinnars are, I finally decided
to make a visit for myself. Walking in you feel the air of high class which
makes the tummy excited in anticipation of great things. I sit in this pleasantly small lounge where the lights are low, amid the quiet. The waitress serves our drinks (I ordered coffee) and brings a wicker basket full of
crackers, bread sticks and bread rolls. I don't find anything amazing about
the food thus far. I go on to order prime rib smothered in mushrooms, red
potatoes and chicken soup. Aaaah The Soup..No complaints there. The
steak was so, so. I was expecting greatness and was sorely disappointed.
Meals run about $20.00 per person and that includes the drinks. I tested
and tried and probably won't go back. Between 21 & 22 mile roads, west end
of Gratiot.

After picking up two of the grandsons, Darin and
Wyatt my spouse and I took the two hour drive down
to Brooklyn, MI. The raceway is a sight to behold in
person. Just like you see on television but tons better
when you are right in the middle of everything. My
spouse first had to attend a class before he was allowed in the race cars. The little kids are loaded
into a van to take a few laps around the raceway.
Than I got to witness Harold in his racing suit and
helmet. I had to close my eyes after he took off and
reached around 185 mph. He loved it! My spouse won
this treat through work but anyone can go down and
pay $99.00 to take a few laps around the raceway.
He got a plague with his picture stating that he did
the course and my grandkids bought one of the
used tires for $5.00 taken off of one of the race cars.
We attended a lunch right on the premises. My spouse
still can't stop boasting about this and I am glad to
have been with him.

I remember those afternoons when my mom and dad
told my brother and I that we were going to go watch
the airplanes take off and all we heard was a lot of
smootching sounds (ha,ha). I guess mom and dad
were on a cheap date. I have actually used this airport
for smaller travels to Ohio and Chicago. What I like
least is that the planes are much smaller also so
that you have to deal with a whole lot of shaking
going on (LOL)! Not good for the weak at heart and
yes, this is in one of the worst areas in Detroit.

Back in the 70's noone was allowed to change my radio station. It was forever set on 93.1 as I favored WDRQ the music world of J. Geils Band,
The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and BTO! I found out just today that DougFM is WDRQ so perhaps it's not a bit surprizing the fond affair I have
with this particular station. It's not just hard rock or classic rock but also
carries the more mellow tunes that we women enjoy listening to. The station itself, is located downtown
Detroit by the Ren Center.
