Geri's Gift Boutique has took up residence in an adorable older home on Washington Street, right before
the red light at Washington and Green. It caught my
eye one Saturday when they were having a sidewalk
sale with items strewn upon the white picket fence;
I just had to stop and find a bargain. Once there I
made my way inside this adorable home turned gift shop where I met Geri Muthler, herself,
a very sweet and welcoming character who made one
feel at home in her new boutique. I also noted that
her daughter helps out and it makes a fine family business. Much like your hallmark shop but in a more
personal atmosphere they have every thing you can imagine for gifts...especially for those that hard to find
a gift for. Geri even asks that you make suggestions of
things you may want added to stock. She has a lovely
lot of swarkovski jewels and also other lines of fine
crystal. With the holiday coming up this just may be the place that has that special something for your loved
one. Handmade & Gourmet Items also available.
The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend
Geri's!!!

Johnny's Cafe. I expected to go in for a cup of coffee

Johnny's reminds me of the high school cafeteria, lots
of tables all around the tiled floors. However, right
smack to the side is some couches and a big screen
television. I was afraid to ask when you can go over
there to watch the tele (before or after eating?) Johnny's also feature sandwiches & soup with a variety
of bread options...pita bread, croissants, bagels, cinnamon rolls and muffins. It's kind of like a deli.
I ordered a delicious tuna salad on pita with Italian
ciabbatta soup (like heaven). And to confirm what I
thought initially, Johnny's is definitely a coffee shop
serving cappuccino, latte, mocha, machiatto, americana,
espresso and iced coffees. You can even
get a coffee smoothie! How is this for a lesson about
drinks? They have granitas and frusia smoothies the
difference being granitas are made of ice fruit flavors
and water. Frusia smoothies are ice milk and any
delicious fruit flavor. Can also be made with orange
juice. Flavors include strawberry, mango, peach and
raspberry. So this cafe has a lot to offer. Although
the food was pleasant enough I found the prices higher
than what I usually spend for lunch! Great to try!

Other than it's one of the nicest family restaurants in the Masonic & Gratiot area of Roseville, I am very proud of the Detailed sign that my brother made for the restaurant. Honestly, my brother, Tony DiFalco makes commercial
signs for a living. They are well known for their family meal deals. Here is
our favorite, Large deep dish pizza, Large antipasto salad and a pitcher of
pop for $16.95. They also serve some very delicious New York Strip Steak
dinnars at a fraction of the price that you would pay at most restaurants.
Wild Woodys also is known for numerous events. Recently they had a
Sunday Car Show. They are very easy to find, located across the street
from the Macomb Mall. Come on in and give them a try!

Italian women love to be waited on, catered to and basically, treated like prima donna's. The Olive Garden
is such a classy place that you feel special just walking
through their doors. This is when the luscious aroma
of spaghetti sauce starts to tempt your appetite. Thats
about when we are shown to our table. We being my
cousin Priscilla and I. I truly enjoy my cousin's company but sometimes she goes out of her way to
get attention and that more than embarrasses me but
since she offered to pay the bill I try hard not to let it
get to me. Today a very nice looking young man is
our waiter. He comes to our table with a bottle of wine
when my cousin boldly ask him if the wine is for free.
I promise myself that I will not melt as I feel my blood
pressure rise in my face. This fine gentleman offers
her a sample by giving her about a 1/3 of a glass. He
kept his cool and handled the situation with dignity.
At this lunchtime I could name about 5 other times when the waiter was put in an awkward position with
my cousin's insistance of more bread, pop refills and
so on. Without going into great detail I must admit
the waiter had a sincere desire to please the customer
and he also had a lot of patience, This all equals excellent customer service. The food at the Olive Garden is very delicious and they have a lot of entrees
to choose from. I ordered the Chicken Marsala which
was awesome.
This particular Oliver Garden Restaurant is in the
Lakeside Shopping Center outside courts.

This is on the front cover of the phamplet from St. Vincent De Pauls Thrift Shop. Recently they opened up
in Clinton Township. The store is equivalent to a supermarket size and even more surprizing was how
lovely that it was organized. I almost forgot that I was
in a second hand store after entering. They have
about 5 little showrooms where they have together
all the same themed items. One showroom has all
christmas items and decorations but it is like entering
someones living room during the holiday season. A
tree is decorated beautifully and the ornaments that
are hanging all have price tags. I was in awe of how
sweet and clean this resale shop was. The items looked all polished up and given great care before
putting out on the racks. They even have a specified
area for antique furniture towards the back of the building. I fell in love with what resembled a small
library of both hard back and paperback books. They
were in excellent condition and many were newly released books at a lower price. Since I did not drive
here I could not stay as long as I wished. For those
who do not know, the monies collected from the sales
of the items go to the homeless and the poor. There
are volunteers working in all their stores so that all the
money can go to the less fortunate. Everything about
this store is immaculate and the prices are grand. They
are located in the 15 Mile & Gratiot Strip Mall by the
Star theatre. On the back of their phamplet they
annouce '"Come and walk with us on...The Road to Heaven."'

Won Ton Palace brings a small portion of China to Marine City. The pretty
little red building with all the ornaments resembles a beautiful empire. The
inside is just as attractive and it's owners go out of their way to make their
patronages feel at home there. They serve both Chinese & Szechuan specialties. The tables all have placemats with the chinese horiscopes which
are read by your year of birth. I shouldn't be surprized that I am the "monkey". I order one of my favorite chinese dishes ---the almond chicken and I can honestly say that it was the very best almond chicken that
I ever had in my life! I give the waitress my JB business card, at which she
smiled and I tell her that I am going to make their little restaurant famous on
the internet. The waitress gets so excited that she goes to tell all her fellow
employees. This is the ONLY chinese restaurant that I have been to that is
open seven days a week. They give you enough food that you must take some home because there is now way to finish it all in one sitting. The prices
are awesome! Won Ton Palace has won over my tummy and my heart. I
can't wait to go back again!!! Highly Recommend!

This was just a reminder to me why I haven't gone to the show in ages. I just
happened to get a gift certificate here so I thought I'd go and see what I have
been missing! The Star Theatre is located at the 15 Mile and Gratiot Old Regional Shopping Center. It is rather new in comparison to the old stores that have been there forever. The rocking recliners are nice enough unless you have a lower back problem so I had to miss a few minutes every once and
awhile to get up and walk around. That is my problem and few have the same
condition. Still I was very very disappointed with the cost of refreshments.
It is utterly outrageous to spend that kind of money that you must fork out in
the theatres now-a-days. The last time I went to the show was to see "Titanic" when it first came out....maybe about 7 years ago. And with todays prices it may be another 7 years before I return again unless I get
another gift certificate to one.

Dr. Kuldip Deogun is the medical director of The
Chronic Pain Institute in Clinton Township, MI. His
methods of practice include spinal cord injections, physical therapy (for those who are able) and medication therapy. My neurosurgeon suggested that
I set an appointment here and I received my packet in
the mail today to register beforehand. Talk about
dejavu! Years ago, I was enrolled in this very same
clinic for a separate incident. I can just imagine the
doctors expression when he sees me again next
week! Anyhow, they couldn't have recommended a
kinder or more compassion specialist than Dr. Deogun.
I am eager to meet with him and find out how we can
alleviate some of the pain and make this melady more
comfortable to bear. I doubt very much that I can have
the spinal cord injections due to the numerous cysts
that are causing much of the problem. I will keep in
update on what he has in store for me in hopes that this
may be some help to those with similar difficulties.

Their rooms are offered much lower via their website and
I saw a one bedroom for four priced at 139.00. You
might want to call them and see if they can apply the
discount to that particular room. They also give you
up to 4 free passes to their indoor waterpark which
the kids would really love. Find this information on
the rooms rate page. This may turn out better than
you expected.

The Empty Vase is conveniently located right on the corner of Washington Street and Green in the heart of Historic Downtown New Baltimore. Not only
are they a favored florist in our area but they also have many sentimental gifts
for special occassions. I love to browse all the little collectibles and momento's that they carry. Unlike other florists, they have a massive supply of sports collectibles and being the avid red wing (NHL) fan that I am, I get many of my souvenirs through them. Recently, after Steve Yzerman retired,
I got some prized "captain" momentos at their location. Let me share a secret here...I don't believe the ladies know the 'true value' of these as I got
them at a very low price!!! They also have a number of adorable stuffed animals, greeting cards and knic knacks.
The Empty Vase also has a complete room devoted to wedding materials. They offer to assist you in wedding plans and organization.
The owners are especially nice and always willing to help you in any way that
they can.
