I really like Cha for Tea, I eat there every time I go the Irvine Farmer's Market (right in the parking lot) on Saturday mornings. They have a ton of different tea drinks (with and without boba), and they are really good. The "milk" teas are made with non-dairy creamer, I'm not sure why, but they are happy to substitute soy milk if you prefer. The teas are very refreshing and flavorful. They always offer to adjust the sweetness once you've tasted it.
But the reason that I really love Cha is the food! I am practically addicted to their steamed chicken dumplings. They have a lot of fresh cilantro on the top, and a delicious dipping sauce. I believe that all of their food have some tea in them as well. Try it out!

Kindermusik is a national (and maybe even international?) music and movement program for kids age infant-early elementary school. The program itself is wonderful, but the thing that has really made our experience stellar is our teacher, Mary Dahlia. She is gentle, warm, supportive, and knows a lot about little kids. She will really work with you to encourage your child, regardless of his/her personality. She is equally good with shy and boisterous kids. She offers classes in Orange, Tustin and a few other local cities.
The website is: http://www.kindermusik.com/
Just click on "find a class"at the bar on the top, and enter your zip code to find a class near you. And make sure the teacher is Mary!!!

Tanaka is a working organic farm in the middle of Irvine (right by UCI, who would've guessed?). Not only do they sell wonderful organic produce at their farm stand, but they have excellent programs for kids (or anyone interested in how farms work). They have strawberry picking in the Spring and a huge pumpkin patch (really a pumpkin field) around Halloween. They do a whole tour with these events, and kids get to pick their won produce. There may even be other events during the year, too. This is so much better than taking your child to a parking lot to pick up a pumpkin. This way they really get to see how the vegetables and fruit they eat are grown. It's a very special place.

Gypsy Den is such a wonderful haven of a place! It is located in Santa Ana, in the Artist's Village. It is a coffee shop/singing venue. The food is very healthy, and also very tasty. The musicians they have come and play are often great. It's a wonderful place to go on the weekend to kick back and hear some great music. It has a very Berkeley feel, which in my estimation is a huge plus. It will make you feel relaxed and artsy just being there! (There is also one is Costa Mesa.)

Wow, I can't believe that no one has spoken up for the Filling Station yet! They are just a few blocks from the Orange Circle, and they are in a cute little building that used to be a working gas station (but really, it's cute, I swear). You can sit inside or outside, and they have both a breakfast and a lunch menu. The food is very good, the selection is nice, and the staff is friendly and generally good. If you are sick of chain restaurants, this place has a very unique atmosphere that I really enjoy. It is also a fine place to go with the family, but don't worry if you don't have kids, it's not loud and raucous like Chuck E. Cheese's, (or anything like that). It's a little gem!

I love Cyrano's. It's tucked away in the back of a rustic shopping plaza at the juncture of North Tustin and Orange. They serve a bunch of drinks (they are a coffeehouse), but they also serve breakfast and lunch items. The staff (and owner, who is frequently there) are very friendly and laid-back. They will go out of there way to accommodate. The food is also very yummy. If you are anywhere nearby and need a little respite, go and stop by!

A Whale of a Tale is a wonderful store. Don't be fooled by its relatively small size, you don't need a superstore for an excellent selection. The people who choose the books really know what they're doing. Not only is there a great assortment of quality titles, but the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They also have great programming, like story time and author visits.
