i've had two great spray tan's from Christy at High Maintenance Skin Salon. they use an amazing product that is spray on by hand for better coverage and is non toxic and natural- which is a far cry from the stuff that they use at mystic tan (i could hardly breathe). better yet, the color or tan comes three shades. i had the medium in the middle of summer (quite dark) and the light right before my wedding (which i might add everyone thought looked great). the atmosphere is great for all services (facials, waxing, mani/pedi) and the staff is very knowledgeable. good luck!

Like most retailers, they are having a big sale and will start clearing out summer merchandise mid-july in preparation for back-to-school. Good luck!

Seattle IS without a good New York Deli! The Other Coast and Roxy’s are poor at best. You are going to have to venture across 520 to Gilberts in Bellevue. It is not 100% authentic but trust me, it is worth the drive.
The monstrous sandwiches with heaps of corned beef and pastrami are fantastic, the rye bread is the real deal, and the pickle right on! All sandwiches are served with macaroni salad. Matzo ball soup is on the menu as are breakfast dishes, which we did not try. Overall everything looked fresh and the portions were generous. The food it is overpriced- due to our shortage in good deli’s I’m betting bake the bread themselves and pay extra to ship some ingredients cross country. Labor in Bellevue is not cheep. Order a half sandwich if you are price conscious.
Generally this place is packed with a line out the door and weekends are worse. The wait for our to-go order was lengthy but not excessive. The clientele waiting in line was very impatient and fairly demanding (seriously people, make a decision, move the line and step aside. It is a Deli not a full service restaurant).

Yummy butter cake and chocolate cake with butter-cream frosting in tons of flavors are sure to please your office gathering. It was a hit at my birthday!
Personally, I’m a big fan of the classic butter cake with either pink or coconut frosting.

Both a friend and colleague referred me to Havlick’s Auto Rebuild for my Toyota 4runner after she just would not start. The service was good and the mechanic was able to clearly explain my car’s issues as well as options for getting her driving vs. in tip-top shape. In all honesty, I do not know if they were reasonable since I did not shop around for another mechanic for this particular problem and just needed to get back on the road. I can recommend the service and workmanship as the best while I owned the car. Very professional with options as opposed to a giant bill of items that needed to be done now.

This Milanese style espresso bar serves the best café and gelato in town, plus there are fresh pastries, amazing breakfast, plus lunch and dinner all in one! I visited the original location on Madison as a recommendation from an Italian colleague and was so bummed when the location closed (to reopen as Fauchon). I was so thankful that in 2004 they reopened in Greenwich Village.
The menu is 100% authentic. During the day you will find ladies who lunch while you savor your food, watch the beautiful people and appreciate one of the best neighborhoods. Unfortunately, the Upper East Side prices have not changed. Breakfast is the best time to enjoy the atmosphere if you are on a budget because you can linger at the bar over espresso or a cappuccino. Lunch and dinner is a bit more expensive but great. The patio is perfection in the summer time.

Sitting in Crush I almost feel as if I am in another city. Chocolate brown exterior with black and white interior are a great backdrop for an exciting meal. Both times I ate there the owners, Chef Jason Wilson and Nicole were on hand to chat up customers. It is clear that they are passionate about their little restaurant.
The food is great- Modern American with a European flare… fresh local ingredients (sustainable or organic when possible), with a frequently changing menu. We were very pleased with our meals both times- opting for all small plates during one visit and a combination of small plates and entrees the other. My favorites include the grilled asparagus & goat cheese salad with prosciutto chips, Wild mushroom and duck confit tart with poached egg, Daurade (fish) in saffron sauce, & Gnocci side.
I did not have a reservation to eat and opted to arrive at 5:30pm when they open. The bar is perfect for an early meal if you can get a spot before the crowd arrives. The selection of cocktails and wine is good. I tried the much talked about Hanger 1 Rasberry vodka (they have other flavors) in a specialty drink that was delicious. Seating is VERY limited and I would strongly recommend making a reservation.

Cute, hip, comfortable jeans do not have to be a challenge- even if you are 5’3”. First, take a stroll downtown to Tulip. Owner, Annie Sparrow has the best selection of jeans for any body type. More importantly, the ladies at Tulip are very honest and helpful with recommendations (they also know the BEST tailor in town for those that need hemming). No hard selling like at the big department stores. I am a firm believer that great pair of jeans are worth the money as long as they look fabulous and make you feel good. Plus, it is a local small business, which I prefer to support.
Personally, I prefer styles with stretch but depending on your body type it might not be your cup of tea. Most importantly, get a pair that makes your butt look good. Low waist is not for everyone but well placed pockets are! We come in all shapes and sizes so try on every pair in your size. Secondly, jeans stretch out. So if you are looking for comfort you might want a pair of jeans a little on the small side (nothing you can not breathe in). This will prevent the saggy diaper effect down the road. My favorite brands are Blue Cult, James Jeans, and Citizen for Humanity. You will also need a good pair of underwear to go with your jeans. I swear by Cosabella.
And here is the final tip for everyone- take care of your clothes. All cotton can shrink up to ¾ of an inch in length in warm water and a hot dryer. Wash your jeans before you alter them. If you LOVE your new hip jeans then wash in cold and lay flat to dry. Worst case you can dry them once and a while (inside out) so that the life of your jeans lasts longer. This might sound neurotic, but my clothes last. At 2x a week, we are talking 100+ wearing… the average price per wearing pays off over time.
