The Owl Bar is a fantastic place to sit back and sip on a martini while gossiping with friends. The atmosphere is upscale and very art deco, making for an overall chic feel. Prices run from moderate to expensive for the menu and full bar choices. While I don't think this is the place to make your regular hangout, it's great for a special occasion or for a friendly, upscale get-together.

Obrycki's is one of Baltimore's best venues for fresh seafood. They're most noted for their crab, and deservingly so. The atmosphere is pretty casual, but it would still make for a great date restaurant. There's a wide variety of seafood and meat options, and prices are pretty moderate. This place packs them in, but it usually gets a smaller crowd than its competition at Harbor Place.

The Top of the World Observation Tower lauds itself as being one of the tallest five-sided towers around, so how can you really compete with that? This tourist attraction is located right in the middle of the Inner Harbor's commercial district, so it will be impossible to miss. The view is great, but I enjoy the view of the city from the Water Taxi a bit more. Still, it's a pretty cheap activity and makes for great photographs.

I visited Baltimore when I was in junior high school, and this architectural aspect stuck in my head like no other. Many years later when I moved to Baltimore, seeing the Shot Tower felt like coming home. This cool piece of history is a must-see while in Baltimore. They would drop molten metal from the top of this tower, resulting in... you guessed it, ammunition in perfectly shaped balls at the bottom. It'll take you just a few minutes to look at, but it's conveniently located near the touristy area.

If you're expecting Matisse and Monet, this isn't the museum. If you are looking for "different" art and are willing to define the word "visionary" pretty darn broadly, then give the American Visionary Art Museum a chance. This place features amateur artists, and really de-emphasizes your standard wall-label and Old Masters' museum shtick. However, the downside is that some of the stuff verges on downright creepy. Do you really want to see a ton of artwork completed by inmates of state penitentiaries? Yes? Well, come on in!

Considering that I'm a museum professional who lived directly across the street from this museum for three years and never felt a burning urge to visit, that should tell you my overall opinion of this place. When I finally did visit, I found it to be quite informative, but not much more than an homage to the nearby national collegiate champions. If you've got some spare time to kill, it's a interesting place to check out.

I loved my visit to the B&O Railroad Museum. Although I'm about as far as you might get from being a fan of the railroad, this museum is great. It's home to one of the few roundhouses left in the USA (whose roof collapsed a few years ago). They've spent a good deal trying to update the museum and increasing exhibition space, all of which have been a success. This is a great museum for kids and adults alike!

Unfortunately, I have heard few good things about this night club. Although it brings in large crowds from the local colleges, it also brings in a ton of underage partiers. Nothing's more fun on a Friday night than hanging out with a bunch of 16 year-olds with fake IDs and skanky clothing. I'd take a pass on this one. If you're actually 21, you're better off at one of Power Plant Live clubs.

I don't know whether or not I've give this place a thumbs up or not. The property itself is huge, with plenty of tables, dance space, and theming. The overall beach theme is pretty good, but I was less than impressed by the crowd it seems to bring in. I'd stick with the Power plant Live over this place if I were you. It's also kinda isolated, so if you want to leave, you're pretty much stuck.

I've been here on several occasions for various touring musical comedies. The theater is absolutely huge, but I wouldn't say it has the greatest acoustics or seating available. You can end up very, very far from the stage if you end up with a cheap seat, so beware of that. Overall, though, the Mechanic brings in some great shows.
