This sister store to the one in Robinson has just as much variety and stock of all things musical. I'm pretty sure that this is a smaller store, but it still has an amazing selection. If you're looking for sheet music, replacement reeds, or are looking to get a stuck mouthpiece removed, Volkwein's will have the solution. Prices are pretty reasonable here considering the selection.

Oh, how I miss you, Volkwein's Music! This store has the most expansive selection of sheet music, instruments for rental or purchase, instrument repair, gift ware, and lessons in the Pittsburgh area. Having used it for both piano and trumpet music, I can say that if Volkwein's doesn't carry it, no one will. I can't say much about the instrument lessons available, but I know plenty of satisfied customers. If you're a musician, you'll adore this store!

For as funny as the name might sound, Pianos N Stuff carries a pretty impressive assortment of pianos, keyboards, and other musical instruments. My family stopped here when we were in search of a piano and found their staff to be quite helpful. Prices here are pretty high, though, so I'd check around. If you're looking for an upright model, I suggest calling Duquesne School of Music and asking when their next piano sale will take place.

I've been to a fair number of Irish shops, and I think St. Brendan's Crossing remains my all-time favorite. This store is located in the Freight Shops at Station Square, and it carries anything and everything Irish. I really like their collection of sweaters and crystal. You can even pick up a brochure on how to incorporate Celtic traditions in your wedding ceremony. Overall, a very cool store and well-worth checking out!

Station Square is a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. It has everything from boutique shops to a comedy club and some great restaurants. It's designed like it's a train station, so don't be surprised to find railroad theming inside. It's a great way to spend an afternoon of browsing. I highly recommend the coffee shop (the Coffee Depot, I think?).

You haven't really experienced Pittsburgh if you haven't made the trek up to Mount Washington via the incline. A round trip ride will only cost you a few dollars, and it'll give you an unprecedented thrill and view of the three rivers. I suggest parking in one of the lots nearby at the bottom and making dinner reservations on Mt. Washington. It's a glass-enclosed incline, so don't worry about bad weather.

Tio Pepe's is a hidden gem tucked away in Mt. Vernon. Though this basement-level restaurant is easily passed by on the street, it's in the running for one of my favorite Baltimore restaurants. Prices are NOT cheap here, and there is a suggested dress code, but the wait staff treats you like royalty. The cuisine is divine, from sangria to the finishing flan. My suggestion is- make reservations early! This place fills up fast on weekend evenings, so call a weeks in advance.

This restaurant is a fantastic place to hang out over drinks and tapas after a film at the Charles Theater next door. Prices for these tiny plates of appetizers range from inexpensive to quite expensive, but each plate will give everyone a few mouthfuls of food. The atmosphere is quite urban chic, and it matches well with the theater. I suggest making reservations before you hit the theater, because this place fills up quickly!

Phillips Seafood is one of the most popular tourist traps for seafood (especially blue crab) while visiting the Inner Harbor. This full service restaurant is pretty casual and really packs in the visor-and-fanny pack crowd on summer weekends. If you're dying to support this business, I suggest visiting in the early afternoon or a weeknight. Prices aren't bad, but you can find better seafood for your money.

The Rusty Scupper is a wonderful alternative to the many seafood restaurants surrounding the Inner Harbor. It's located on the other side of the Harbor, so you're separated from most of the crazy tourists. As several reviewers mentioned, parking can be difficult. I suggest taking the water taxi over the Rusty Scupper. You can have the water taxi paged at the end of your meal, so a boat will be waiting to pick you up right after you pay your bill.
