Samuel Adams Brewery and Tour

Friday, February 17, 2006
The Sam Adams Brewery and Tour is a great "first step" into learning a little more about the process of brewing beer. While this isn't my favorite brewery tour and is decidedly more commercial than others I've taken, it handles large groups well and still offers "free*" tastings and a souvenir tasting glass after the tour. The tour guide seemed pretty knowledgeable, but the areas we visited were mostly staged and not the real deal. Still, if you're a fan of the Boston beer, I'd suggest taking an hour and checking out this tour. They've got a fun gift shop as you're exiting the tasting room, and hey, what's not to love about free Sam Adams? If you're interested, do call ahead and check on tour times; there's only a limited number offered per day. (*There is a suggested donation of $2 per person)
