The food is wonderful, actually. My husband and I argue frequently about this place and Santa Fe --about which is better. They are different --with very different atmospheres, etc. I love the tacos at Front Street.

I tend to avoid "let us entertain" you restaurants and this restaurant is a prime example of why: expensive and just not worth it.
BUT if i am ever in oak brook for lunch without my husband, I just have to have their sandwich.

However, out of all the restaurants at Oak Brook Mall, this is one I really like.
As with all the restaurants at Oak Brook, you really need to have a reservation, and even then you sometimes have to wait.
Papagus has a good selection, and the food is always very good.
What I don't like is how busy is it. I don't mind crowded restaurants, but for whatever the reason, at this place I really felt like I was eating in a crowd.
It is a bit pricey.

They also make good margaritas. If you are anywhere near Geneva and have a taste for Mexican, this is a great place to go.

I don’t know if we will go back there. I wouldn’t avoid it but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat there either.

I've only been to Carol's Garden twice. I went when it first opened. I don't tend to think of myself as an overly picky eater (especially when at a greek restaurant), but I really, really did not like the way they made my omelet. Then we tried it again, and I really, really didn't like my salad.
It's been around for some years now, so it can't be all that bad, but it just isn't for me.

I first went to Cozymel's right after it opened. It was back when they were just starting to build these warehouse like restaurants. I didn't like the atmosphere (still don't). I also didn't like my meal. But I tend to like more authentic Mexican stuff. Tex Mex can be good, but sometimes it makes no sense to me to mess with food that is always near perfect.
I don't think I liked their margaritas very much either.

When my husband and I moved into our new house, they sent us a "free large cheese pizza" coupon, so we thought we'd try it.
We were both very surprised by how good it was. We had been eating Taylor Street, but after trying Rosati's, we have a new pizza place. No contest.

Since I don't eat meat, my husband and I don't go to seafood places very often, but I had a friend coming in from San Fran and I had heard so much about this place, I thought, great chance to give it a try.
We arrived 3 minutes after our reservation time, and they did not have a table for us. We then had to wait 10 more minutes before we were seated. (watching them sit three other couples before us.)
Finally we sit down. We felt young. Mind you, we are all professionals in our mid-30s. Didn't matter. The restaurant is in an old church like place, so there is some gorgeous stain glass windows. Very cool setting (even if the live music coming out of the bar was a bit too loud).
Our waitress was nice enough, but after giving us a wine list, she disappeared for 15 minutes. We were thirsty, and as every good restaurant manager knows, the money is in the booze.
She finally comes back. We order our drinks. We wait (again). The people next to us, who came in after us, were already eating their appetizers.
To make a long story short: the service was terrible. The food was "okay" --very bad for the price, actually. After our meal, my friend and husband said to me, “We should have stayed home. What a waste of money, and we’re better cooks!”
Making matters worse, when the manager came over to see how our meal was, and we told him about the wait, he then went off and YELLED at the waitress while we were still there. The poor girl. It was so uncomfortable. A different person brought us the bill and everything. The manager was truly awful.
My brother loves the place. I say spend your money elsewhere.

There aren't a lot of places in the "burbs" where you can get really good pan pizza.

This place is a different story. The crust is delicious, and the sauce is just right. I've been going here for well over 20 years, and though the cooks may change, the quality remains the same.
They have some good appetizers too.
