At first I was unsure about their "walk-in" service, but now I am convinced that this is the way to go. My pup was sick this past week, and it was great to just pop into the vet. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes, and usually we are taken right into a room.
The Dr are all very nice, and my pup LOVES them all. The Dr that gave him his rabies shot did such a good job that it was over with before my dog and I even knew it!
They have very convenient hours, and the walk in service makes it even more convenient!

I swear, I called at least 5 different tree care companies for quotes, and I had the hardest time getting anyone to come out to speak with me --and the one that did wanted to charge me a small fortune.
When I told my neighbor what difficulty I was having finding someone to do some tree work, she mentioned Family. I called, an appointment was set, I got a voice mail reminder, and the guy actually showed up on time! The quote was very reasonable, and the job was completed in a very timely manner.
Family is a top dollar company, run as professionally as it gets. I even got a $30 dollar off next tree service Holiday Letter!
I found my tree service!

I wouldn't say it was great, or that I would go out of my way to eat here again, but there really wasn't anything to complain about.
One thing, my vegt fried rice was more like Chinese fried rice than Thai fried rice, but different cooks, different stuff....... It was good, nonetheless.

As a non-meat eater, I tend to get disappointed very easily. As a Sicilian, I tend to not like to eat at Italian restaurants, as usually my sauces and pastas are better.
I had tortellini last night. It was "okay." Was is the best Italian joint I've ever been to in the States? Most likely.
It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. For 12-20 an entry, you can expect some very good food, served to you by a friendly staff that truly wants to make you happy.
They make their own pastries on site, but we asked if they had some cannoli from the Italian Bakery next door. They served us the cannoli with broken bits in champagne glasses. YUMMMMMM
For special occasions, I highly recommend.

Seriously, if you want good, traditional Chinese food, including a large selection of wonderful and cheap seafood, this is the place.
The menu is very, very impressive, and the food is done perfectly.

The Lyric is one of the worldโs best opera houses. In the last few years, it has also been the envy of other houses across the country because of its high season ticket holder rate.
It has recently been rehabbed, so it sparkles and radiates its beauty.
They put on some of the best productions in the world.
It is conveniently located on Wacker in the Loop, so its easy to get to via public transportation.
I'm partial to Puccini myself, but if you've never given opera a try, check it out, you may end up loving it.

They do seasonal things, like pumpkins and Christmas trees, but tend to close down after the holidays until Spring.
at the end of summer, they have a terrific 50% off sale, so if you want a birdbath but can't bring yourself to spend 100 or more on something like that for your garden, then I recommend checking this place out at the end of summer.

When I was a kid, I went to day camp on the grounds of Cantigny.
Built by Colonel McCormick's, the powerhouse behind the Tribune, it has a fantastic WW 2 musuem, and beautiful grounds with tons of flower gardens and walking paths.
It also has a Golf Course and restaurent, where you can get a superb, pricey lunch.
It use to be free to get in, but now i there is a per car fee.
I don't know if they are still there, but there use to be a "playground' of tanks you could climb on.
A fun, educational adventure for families.

Imagine, going to a concert with marble bathrooms and an attendant? Who would had thunk it?
Better yet, there is strange and wonderful art behind the bar. You can even order good (but pricey) food right at the bar.
There isn't much seating, if you want to be on the main floor. The place can get real crowded, but it is a nice intimate venue with the extra plus of being a plush place.
To have a real expensive adventure, Shaw's is right around the corner.
Don't be surprised by the price of booze, and dont' be surprised if you have to show your ID a few times, they run a tight but good ship.

Since they have made admission free, I have stopped enjoying myself at this place. I did nothing but complain about the 5-dollar entry free before, but now that it is free, you can barely find room at a table or at a slot. It is so crowded, even early.
My husband and I like to go early on Fridays, around 6.30. Since it is now free admission, the place is crowded by 7. Before it didn't get crowded till close to 10.
I did, though, win 500 on my b-day last year!
They have a very large nonsmoking section, but not everyone pays attention to this rule, so don't be surprised if you see smokers in the smoking area.
If poker is your thing, make sure you get there really early to get your name on the list. It fills up real, real quick.
