While not in Seattle proper, Denise and Nabil run a great wine store in Bellevue with regular tastings featuring regional and international wines. The tasting bar is in the back and the wines are laid out by region stacked in their cases with intelligent notes and relevant reviews and ratings. We never get out of there without spending a lot of money, something new, and a great experience.

If you want to find quality, contemporary furniture at bargain prices, you are going to have to be willing to hunt for it. At the Kasala Outlet (in the warehouses just East of Safeco) you may just get lucky. We've gotten lucky several times - custom made glass and wood Italian coffee table $150, beautiful wool Italian rugs $200 a piece. We try to look about once a month just to see what is new. Sometimes people order something and it isn't what they want (like our coffee table) or they retire floor samples when new stock comes in (like our rugs) or a line gets discontinued. Whatever the reason, it will show up in the outlet in SODO. Even if you don't find exactly what you want the first visit, it is worth your while to keep checking back.

They also have some really beautiful retail and estate pieces available in their cases. I purchased my husband an Ebel watch with the help of Steve (a great guy) and he loves it.
They also are great for repairs to both watches and other pieces. They are truly a full-service jeweler with a long history in the community.

When we needed to hang a new light fixture in our entry with a vaulted ceiling and put an atenna on our roof, we decided that we needed help. A neighbor referred us to Vernon Walton and he took care of both jobs quickly and well. He is also an owner of rental properties so he has knowledge of the right and wrong way to do things to ensure that you won't regret a "fix" down the road.
Vernon is licensed, bonded, insured and very nice. He will be painting the interior of our home after the weather clears (and we can keep the windows open). Give him a call - he will definitely come to your rescue as he came to ours.
