The Chimacum Cafe is right on the highway in Chimacum (between 101 and Port Townsend). Every time my family goes to Pt. Townsend or that general direction on the Olympic Peninsula we try to stop at the cafe. It doesn't look very special from the road, just another old roadside cafe, and the decor is typical old cafe style. But I don't go there for the ambience; it is the food I go for. Most specifically the pie. And in summer, the wild blackberry pie. It is out of this world (either ala mode or plain)! The slices are large, and the scoop of vanilla ice cream with it is generous (if you like your pie ala mode). I have sampled over a dozen kinds of pie there (they always have 20 or so fresh pies on hand) and have never been disappointed.
The rest of the food there is good, but be warned that most things come in farmer sized portions! The salads are huge; they could feed 2 people easily. The burgers and fries and delicious and the soups are hearty. I usually eat half my meal and take the leftovers home for lunch the next day.
While you can get by spending less than $10 for a meal, I usually cannot resist their pies and that will push it over the $10 price mark. I have also never seen this place without half the tables taken; during busy times there can be a wait.

This is a nursery that specialized in Rhododendrons and Azaleas. While they do offer other plants, rhodies and azaleas are where they truly shine. They have hundreds of varieties to choose from and many of them are on display there. They also have an extensive catalog that you can order from and the plants range from very early to very late blooming, and from small to huge. There is almost always something blooming there. And their quality is excellent. They have a small selection of other garden supplies and seeds as well.
Towards the end of the blooming season (usually around May), the rhodies go on sale. I have seen them as discounted as buy 2 get 1 free, but usually they are buy 3 get one free. I usually wait until they go on sale before I buy.
They are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

This is a standard multiplex located on Viking Way in Poulsbo. It has 10 screens and is a typical modern multiplex with the usual overpriced concessions. However, they do have a couple of unique features that make it easier for families. One thing they offer is a reusable soda cup (I think it is called a "regulator"). It is pretty large and you can get refills for only a buck! I have really gotten my money's worth on this over the past couple of years.
During the summers, they also offer free movies (rated G or PG) for kids in the mornings 2 days a week. This is a really great thing for families and makes for a great outing. And since the movie is free, you can take your small children without feeling guilty if they make noise or won't sit through the movie. And my little kids love the opportunity to do a "big kid" activity. Not to mention the fact that it is the only way to take the whole family to the movies often without blowing the budget.

This is a really nice local nursery conveniently (or inconveniently) located right on Bond Rd. The staff there is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and helpful (I don't know if they have a Master Gardner on staff or not, but most of the staff there are that knowledgeable).
They have a really good selection of plants and the quality is very good. They also carry other garden supplies such as fertilizer and pesticides. They usually have a good selection of seeds and some nice garden decorations and stuff (i.e. gloves, wind chimes, gazing balls, bird feeders and baths, etc.).
I prefer to go here for perennials but will often go to Home Depot (which is only 8 miles away in Silverdale) for annuals as their prices on annuals are a bit high here. (Home Depot does not have as good of quality, but their prices are much less).

Bad Blanche is an interesting shop; it sells both genuine antiques and newer replicas (which is why I put antique in quotes on the title). The shop has quite a variety of things, from basic furniture (tables, chairs, dressers, etc) to knick-nacks, toys, clothing, and various household decorating items.
Like many antique stores, the inventory is constantly changing (although it seems that there are some things that have been there forever!). For the most part, I like to stop in and browse but I usually don't buy unless it is on sale (with a significant discount).

This has got to be one of the funnest places around! It is a ceramics and glass studio where you can create your own fused glass design or paint one of the numerous types of ceramics available. You can also bring in your own ceramic, but the selection they have there is pretty good. The basic concept is you pick a piece that you want to paint (it can be a plate, cup, platter, mug, piggy bank, tile or etc....). They have stamps and design cards or you can design your own. Then you paint away! Once done painting, you take it to the back where it will be glazed and fired and then you come back in a few days to pick up your masterpiece!
They also offer party packages for kids and group rates. They also have scheduled ceramic parties where you can come in and paint with a whole bunch of other folks and there are drawings for free items and studio time.
This is a great place to take kids and family and spend some time!

While their overall selection is limited, they have a really large selection of very nice Asian prints, batiks, and monochromes. They also have a good selection of knitting supplies sewing notions. They have a nice selection of books, but not a lot of single patterns.
They also offer quilting classes and services and have a long-arm quilting machine.

This is a cute little shop right in the heart of Kingston, located half a block from the state ferry terminal. They have an eclectic selection of gifts, cards, books, and various assorted knick-nacks. There is all kinds of local artist produced goods, ranging from ceramics to textiles to paintings and much more. There are often flowers in the door (little flower holders that they also sell there) and the staff is quite friendly and cordial. It is a nice shop to browse or otherwise kill time in (especially while waiting for the ferry). While it is geared towards tourists, it does not contain the typical tourist junk you usually find in such places (they have really nice stuff).

This bicycle shop is located in the historic Kingston Hotel. It has the character of the wood and creaky floors and that seems to go quite well the bicycle museum that is a part of the store. Old bikes (some dating back to the 19th century!) hang from the ceiling and there are photos throughout the store. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and the customer service there is fantastic! They have new bikes ranging from economy models up through high level racing, road and mountain models as well. They offer full service there, working on just about any bike that has ever been made. If you have a vintage bike, they can often obtain parts for it as well as take care of your kids bike. They have a wide selection of gear as well, and if they don't have it they can usually get it for you fairly quickly. They also offer a free fitting with the purchase of a bike as well as discounts on service and gear for a year. They are very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. They can help anyone from the complete novice who walks in with no idea of what they need up through the professional cyclist.

Central Market is more than just a grocery store. It has a very large selection of organic and natural foods and products. The quality of produce at the market is outstanding and the dairy products are not likely to spoil on you too quickly (they pull it a week before the sell by date).
They have a good selection of Asian foods; both fresh and packaged. It is probably the best selection outside of Seattle.
If you cannot find an item you are looking for at another store, they will often have it (and if not they are willing to order it for you).
Prices are a little high on some things, but the quality can be worth it and overall they are competitive with other grocery stores in the area.
