Finally, an authentic NY style pizza arrives in Ballard. Now, I'm not from New York, but I'm married to a New Yorker and I've been to Manhatten many times. I will say this: Zagi's is the closest thing I've found to a real NYC pie. I say closest because I've still not found Joe's Pizza, but I'm certain it's not possible...
First the crust -- thin and pliable but crisp on the bottom. You can fold it in half like the real thing. Next the price -- this is the best value in Seattle. It arrived at our house in the biggest pizza box I've ever seen. The sauce is just right, and there's plenty of cheesey goodness. These guys are on it. Apparently they used to follow the Grateful Dead around selling pizza and finally landed here in Seattle.
I, for one, welcome them with an open mouth...
