I know that this place is a bit from Gresham, but they have saved me so much money over the years that it is well worth the drive!
Able office machines is a funny little business in a house. One of the oldest computer repair places around, they started out on cash registers and typewriters!
I have saved thousands of dollars using their services for business I have worked for and on a personal level they have always been both fair in their charges as well as very upfront when something's not worth fixing. Best of all, I always learn a lot about the equipment I'm bringing in when I stop by.
And that's the fax!

The Community Energy Project is a great organization that has the most up to date information about heating and cooling your home in the most energy efficient and cost-effective way.
Give them a call and are able to provide great information over the phone. Additionally, in some cases (I'm not sure what their requirements are) they will send someone out to look at your place and make suggestions as to the best set up to use for your property. Additionally, they often have discounts and financing programs available only through them!

When my daughter was younger, she enrolled in every kind of dance and music class there was.... and each one had to have different shoes and uniforms. What I learned quickly was to start with inexpensive equipment until she had completed at least one session of classes and then I graduated her into better quality equipment.
Payless Shoes was my surprising best friend for a while as a result. They have a whole line of inexpensive yet adequate beginner footwear for everything from ballet to football. Not all stores carry them, however. Usually Lloyd Center has all options but not in all sizes.
Enter the internet. At Payless shoes, you can find what you want on their website, even order it in multiple sizes, have it delivered to the nearest store to you without paying any shipping, try the shoes on, and return on the spot the sizes that don't fit.
Enjoy the time your daughter is taking ballet...and remember to take lots of pictures!

I interviewed Kathy Ross, President of the Mortgage Group not too long ago on my radio show. I had heard of her good and reliable work and some of the community projects she's been on. Her offices are out in Oregon City and I know that she deals with lots of property out of the urban areas.
Kathy is the kind of woman that will go the extra mile for whatever it is that she is doing for someone. The next house I purchase, I will be using her services without any hesitation or searching around for someone else.
Good luck with your property!

Golden Harvesters is one of the longest-standing gleaners in the state.
The basis for Golden Harvesters is that you pay a small monthly fee, participate in 6 "harvests" a year (which range from picking apples in someone's yard to picking up bread from a bakery) and then pick up food boxes a few times a week.
Talk about savings on your food bill!
This is located near St. Johns and near the University of Portland. It is convenient to buses, and offers a real community atmosphere. Aside from places to get food for free, this business is one of the best bangs for your buck in the whole city.

For years folks with physical disabilities have fought to stay in their own homes and have often lost the battle. Now, with the Boomers approaching 60, they have a a whole new group of people to ally with facing the same issues. Meanwhile, there's a gaggle of predatory groups out there acting as "consultants" to find solutions for a whole bunch of money.
Not Bridge to Mobility, However! Bridge to Mobility will consult for FREE to the public. They were responsible last year for getting accessible housing listings visible for realtors and for several years now they have helped folks regardless of income find ways to stay in their home. Mostly staffed by volunteers from the real estate industry, this is one group of consultants who won't make your wallet independent of you!

I discovered this gem a few months back when I went to consult with one of their tenants. Davis Business Center is the next step up when you're ready to move your home office out of your home.
It offers a beautifully furnished building near the Hollywood Max stop. Rent includes full-service secretarial and a very impressive front desk staff that makes even the tiny of businesses present as forboding corporations.
The next business plan I offer someone will include a step into this complex as transition into long-term success!

This place is a happy place for me..it signals the end of our former mayorial regime.
I like that our Mayor picked it as a symbol of being part of the community...it's small and inviting and offers everything for the perfect small event.
The wine selection is very good. I'm a red wine fan and they have a wide variety of Ports that are on my list and own up to deep, fruity flavors.
They have a HUGE variety of speciality cheese to compliment hte wines and I have yet to find one that I've tried that I don't like.
So far, I've appreciated everything our Mayor has done, including point this place out to the public!

This niftly little store lodged next to the Portland Saturday Market carries all things Australian. Ranging from expensive mountain instruments and drums to leathers to sheeps skin vests this place is perfect to find durable goods for the outdoors.
Of course, you can also find the usual tourist fare here..but that's not what attracts most visitors. This store offers sweaters that are not cheap, but will certainly earn their keep at the ski chalet on Mt. Hood.
There's a bit too much here for the kids to stay in line for long, but if you stop through make sure to pick up one of the Australian candy bars for them...or for yourself!
