Good Chinese Food (not in the I.D.)
Thursday, September 28, 2006
It's got a strange name for a Chinese restaurant: Jack's Tapas. The paper menu that you're given is rather short--but the board with the specials is rather long. So, definitely ask your server what is good off the specials board.
One of the things that this place is known for is their sesame bread. It's not like the "scallion pancake" that most people think of as part of Chinese food. It is thick and really like bread. We ate it in place of rice. But it is VERY filling. Not sure that I love the bread--but it's definitely not something you can typically get somewhere else.
Otherwise, the food is pretty good. Definitely should go with a group of people so you can order several things. The service was efficient and helpful. I want to go back and try more things.
