Carmine's - Expectations too high?

I had heard so much about Carmine's in Manhattan. Everyone always raved about how wonderful it is. Well, I finally went and maybe my expectations were too high, but I was not impressed. The food was not different from any other okay Italian restaurant I had been too. We were served gigantic portions- it was overwhelming. This is not the authentic Italian food I heard it was.
