When this place first opened, it offered great sandwiches at really cheap prices. The prices have risen quite a bit since then, but the quality is still there. I LOVE their iced milk coffee. It's strong and it doesn't taste powderly at all like a lot of Vietnamese places I've been to. The sandwiches are very yummy, although my brother doesn't like how hard the bread is since it hurts his teeth. I don't mind too much but it does create a lot of crumbs. For some reason they "American-ized" the grilled beef sandwich by putting lettuce and tomato instead of the usual veggie salad spread that comes with most of the sandwiches.

I've been here a few times with my family and it's been quite disappointing. Considering how pricey the food it, you'd think you'd get better service. The service is on-par with a lot of cheaper Chinese restaurants. Also when you ask for rice which for some reason isn't given as part of your meal, you get these small bowls of rice instead of a big pot of price you get with other Chinese restaurants. Food was pretty good, but you can get cheaper at other places with the same level of service.

For the money, this place gives you pretty good food at great value. In terms of Chinese fast food restaurants, this is up there with Panda Express. The food is quite good and you can get fried rice, chow mein, and 2 items for around $4! Their chow mein and fried rice are really good. It's located near the former Albertsons (now Northgate market) shopping center so there's plenty of parking.

I like this place since it's drive-thru is 24 hours. Food is really good. I usually get a Carnitas plate or the carne asada burrito. Prices are very reasonable too.

I some times go here since it's near Target. It's like any other Starbucks. The pastries are blah, but drinks have been consistently good. Although one time I came in on a hot day 12pm-ish and they didn't have any of the vanilla powder which meant they couldn't do any non-coffee ice blended drinks which totally sucked!

Love this Target! It's clean and I've always had no-hassle returns. One time I even forgot to bring the price tag label but they took it back anyway. Theirs lotsa scanners around if you need to check a price of an item which is sooo convenient. Items are well-priced, particularly the grocery items.

FYI...This place changed its name to Art's Burgers a year or two ago.
Anyway, this place is better than In-and-Out. It's been around forever. It offers more items and their fries are WAY better than In and Out...crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Their burgers and prices are comparable to In-and-Out., and they'll make the burgers any style you want. They also serve breakfast and other items like fish sandwiches, hot dogs, corn dogs, pastrami (the latter two are really good). And the people are so friendly. And prices are so cheap! Sundays and Wednesdays are their 99 cent burger days so you can save even more! And once-a-year, they do a retro price night in which prices change to when the place opened (in the 50s?). Expect REALLY long waits that night though!

I used to come here often for skating lessons and practice. Lessons are actually a pretty good deal. Usually on their website, there are discounts for lessons and skate rentals. And you get a bunch of free admissions and free skate rentals when you get your lesson card. If you choose not to take a lesson, you can use it for another admission. It can be a bit crowded on weekends so I liked going on weekdays when there was less people. They ice their rink down so it's not too choppy for long.

I've been going to this library since I was a kid. It's nearby the community center, park, aquatic center and El Monte High School. Selection is decent, but if they don't carry anything you want, you can request to have it sent to the library online or in person. It's not a big library, but I've usually been able to find a table to read at. However, a lot of kids do go to this library so be prepared to deal with some noise level.

Probably the best record store in LA. Large selection of CDs and vinyls. You can sell your old CDs and DVDs for either cash or store credit. Some CDs are sorta on the pricey side like Dramarama's greatest hits CD was about $18.99 so I found it cheaper on Ebay. Lines usually look long, but it moves rather quickly. Their parking lot can be pretty full but you can park at the Arclight Cinemas and get your parking validated.
