The music is often interesting and sometimes downright strange. At least its not boring. The admission price is around fifteen dollars but they may have changed the price since last time I was there. The Guggenheim museum is considered one of the best museums in the world. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright the museum is housed in one of the most unique buildings in the city. Exploring the Guggenheim is enjoyable but without a map and a bottle of water one can get lost and seriously dehydrated. A lot of great art under one roof.

The Door is an amazing youth center offers the best range of programs for the under eighteen crowd I have ever seen including but not limited to: DJing classes, graphic design, music, breakdancing all in one place, for free. They also offer health services, childcare, college prep, and all sorts of academic supports. I wish I had something like this when I was a teen. This place is so cool

Maybe its because of the weird things that happen here. Anyway Orchid is small but the books but they have an amazing collection of old books and many of the new books are signed by the authors.

Everything is sold on consignment so the prices are a bit steep but at least you know everything is handmade thereby unique. Shop here you will be supporting many local artists so not only are you stocking up on art but good karma points.

The store is small, so it is very easy to navigate, plus the Teabox Cafe on the bottom floor has delicious lunches. They have a floral arrangement with orchids and gardenias. Sony Wonder Tech Lab is an fun museum that teaches adults and children about technology through interactive exhibits. It has about four or five floors and the entire museum is free. Exhibits include editing a music video, experimenting with audio, playing video games, making a movie trailer, mixing music and learning about some technology that doctors use. There's even a giant bubble machine maker. They even have a theater that shows movies periodically.
Again everything is free!!!

Skyline Books & Records is an excellent place to look for that hard to find out of print book and used books
Their selection is very eclectic with selections that include the beat writers, African-American fiction, fifties and sixties books, art and photography. The fact that's it's only a few blocks from Strands is probably one of the reasons Skyline is not too well known but it's definitely worth looking around.
