The bar at the Brewer's Art is a great chill hangout spot. If i liked beer, i'd be in heaven with all the interesting-sounding brews. If you go, be sure to order the garlic french fries - probably the best bar food you'll ever eat. They're garlicy and topped with rosemary - absolute perfection! I dream of those french fries....

Donna's is a great little restaurant in Mt. Vernon. The salads and sandwiches are always excellent. The sandwiches come with roasted red and sweet potatoes, which are a nice, healthier alternative to the french fries or chips that usually come with sandwiches. The coffee is good, and they serve beer and wine here. The hot entrees are usually pretty good, but i usually stick to the sandwiches, which are always great.

Minato is located in Mt. Vernon, and has wonderful tasty sushi. Parking is a serious pain, but once you get in the door, you'll forget about that. Try the agedashi (if you like tofu, that is) for an appetizer - yum! The sushi is always very good, though I've never been too impressed with their yellowtail. The service is excellent, and the staff are all very friendly and kind. Enjoy!

Breakfast at the Golden West Cafe is outstanding! Lunch and dinner is great too, but they really shine with the breakfast foods. Luckily, they're available all day. The new system bakery french toast with apples and honey is not to be missed. The restaurant is cute and funky inside. Be sure to bring change for the metered parking outside.

Anne did a wonderful job with our ceremony. We met with her once during the planning, and communicated via email as we planned the details of our ceremony. She did a great job of taking our personal preferences about the ceremony into account. She emailed us lots of options for readings and other components of the ceremony, and was great about adding in things that we wanted. The actual ceremony was really beautiful. We got lots of compliments on the ceremony, especially about how personal it was. One of our guests even asked us if we knew her personally, because of how well the ceremony fit us as a couple. She's a very warm, kind person, and we both felt very good about having her do the ceremony. I HIGHLY recommend Anne Dorsey as an officiant for your wedding.

We rented an apartment in a building owned by the J.R. Owens Corp. for about 2 years. The apartment was in good condition when we moved in, with new carpet and paint, except for the kitchen. The kitchen was in poor condition, and the home had mice. J.R. Owens did nothing about the mouse problem, other than offering to come and set traps at the apartment. They also were slow to respond to a problem with a leak in the roof of the apartment above us, which slowly leaked into our apartment. Our rent was very reasonable, and overall we liked the apartment, but we were unhappy at times with the service.

I got a tattoo here a few years ago, and was not happy with the end result. I worked with the artist and had three or four touch-up sessions with him, but it soon became clear that the kind of work i wanted was outside of the artist's scope. However, I've seen the work from other tattoo artists at this establishment, and their work was great. Be sure to carefully research your tattoo artist if you get a tattoo here. Tha ambiance of the place is nice.

This is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. The library is housed in a beautiful block-long building, and the grandness of the library lends an air of importance to the experience. The selection is quite impressive and extensive. There are also plenty of instructional tapes and videos. Don't expect to find tons of comfy chairs for hours of reading, but there are a few. There are plenty of computers with internet access, however there are time limits, and the majority of the stations are standing only.
