Recently I was traveling and toward the end of my trip I began anticipating my return to Seattle and the whole unpacking, laundry, grocery store trip....you know...the return to reality and the busy life...cram it all in so you can get back to work and start accruing more vacation time....well..the thought overwhelmed me and I was trying to decide how I could minimize the trauma of all that and still have a little energy to feel human....I was close to a computer and came up with the idea that since I had used Safeway.com once before maybe I would log on and order my groceries ahead and schedule a delivery time that coincided with my current arrival schedule...INDEED...what a grand idea it turned out to be....upon my return home I unpacked , went through the mail ( which I had picked up at our 24 hr Post Office during the cab ride from the airport)...threw the laundry in the washer and DING-DONG....Safeway.com was at the door with all my organic requests, plus a few delights and many staples....it was the best...This is a service that I have now used at least 10 times and have found the drivers to be amazingly polite, courteous and helpful...the ordering is very easy (the site is simple to use) and while on the site you can send messages to the "pickers" of the order asking for your own preferences such as "greener bananas"..or longer dated butter...etc....and they have "windows" of time for delivery....the longer the window the cheaper the delivery charge...but with gas prices what they are...$4.95 for my 2 week grocery delivery is fine with me!!! Plus I can spend that hour doing something else that's screaming for attention...they even run specials for FREE delivery...Now it's a new habit...while traveling I make time to sit down and place my order and arrange a great delivery time...which saves me many steps upon my return...I've even begun to use it so I get deliveries right after work...no shopping side trips...and one thing I've noticed....I actually save money ....(no grabbing those cookies/candy bars on my way to the check out stand or those extras that weren't on the list)... I still enjoy a stroll through PCC or Metropolitan Market for my own pleasure and to get those things that I thought weren't available at Safeway...and my newest found information is that some of the things Safeway didn't carry...they special order for me as long as I give them a week's notice for the 1st order..it has really been good for us...and I've tried to turn that extra little bit of time into doing something for myself that normally would be deemed "out of the question....too busy!!"... Check it out...you might save yourself a few hours a month.....and get to read that book you've been wanting to read...or take that Yoga class ( that's what I've done)..... oh, and by the way....you can use coupons and promotions on the site also...the same sales apply that are found at your local store!!!! It's a win/win for me....now that I've established my list online, shopping only takes me about 15 minutes!!!

When I first opened my BECU (Boeing Employees Credit Union) account I had no idea how my "banking experience" would change. In the beginning only Boeing employees and their families could join...now they have expanded that invitation to most of Washington's residents. Whether you choose to go into their main office and conduct your business or stop at one of their many branches or ATM's you will certainly find them friendly, accurate, and more than willing to help with your every need. My favorite offering is their incredibly simple and secure FREE online bill payment. This service is a lifesaver for me...no matter where I am in this busy world, I can log on and pay my bills..check my accounts, transfer funds, track my credit card, view statements both from BECU and from my creditors , set up automatic payments....and the list goes on and on .....I have used this service for over 1 year and never had a mistake, late payment, or miscue of any kind. They offer great rates on CD's& MM's and their credit card APR's are very competitive... From top to bottom it's a great place to do business...

I've posted about this great physical therapy establishment before...but if you are looking for a massage therapist ( and I believe there are still 2 males at this business) that accepts insurance...this would be a good place to start!!! The therapists are the best I've ever had and they took my Regence ( through Boeing Traditional)...they specialize in injuries and disease caused trauma....and as in my case surgery was recommended ...but these wonderful people worked their magic and I was able to move on without surgery and am doing VERY WELL. You, of course, would have to have a "prescription" (doctor referral) before insurance would cover but their finance person figures all that out for you....Good luck...( it's really in Renton...the name is misleading!!!)

I was told about 3 years ago that I would need surgery on my shoulder...this was a repeated diagnosis by 4 different specialists....I wanted to try physical therapy first and they were all against it. I had lower back problems, too, and it was getting difficult to do my 5-7 mile walks every day. I prevailed and got my primary care physician to refer me to p.t....I chose Southcenter Physical Therapy based on it's wide variety of practitioners and it's unique approach to injuries and bodies out of sync....I LOVED IT... Jude is the owner and she does the initial assessments...she is talented and very sweet...It's name is is misleading as it really is located in a beautiful old craftsman style house in Renton.....Jacque was one of my massage therapists and he really was the crowning touch to the entire process...Cynthia was also a practitioner ( sort of the occupational therapist) and she taught me movements that I still do to this day whenever I have a little twinge of stiffness...and it works immediately. My insurance paid for me to have treatment for almost 6 months...and ta..da...no surgery necessary and a wonderful experience all around. They incorporate many newer modes of therapy and are very successful.. While going there I met several people that had Fibromyalgia, MS, RA, etc...all were so happy with the outcomes for their ailments..ALL positive...Since my need for the therapy no longer existed I happily returned to the specialists and they were amazed.....it's been at least 3 years and I am still working with over 95% better range of motion and no pain....I would go back there for any treatment I needed...they care and they have studied many different techniques...it's not your "gym atmosphere" p.t....they are professional and yet very in tune with the human aspect of their vocations...From receptionist to each practitioner..you will be treated as a whole person...not a shoulder, back or knee injury....I've sent many friends to this wonderful place of healing and they have all come back with glowing reports... Good luck...you'd be in the best hands!!! ( Oh, one of my doctors even went through a program there and still raves about it!!!)...

I am just preparing to change my cell phone service to Cingular from T-Mobile....I've had T-Mobile for 2 years and it has worked VERY well for me in my travels and is pretty rock steady here in the Seattle area... Their customer service has been as good as can be expected...Why then am I even thinking of switching?... I am in the strangest position...I am in a "perfect coverage area"..ASIDE from the one city block I reside on....yes...down the block...Great coverage...Up the block...fabulous coverage...in my house or yard....NO COVERAGE...not one bar...a dead spot in coverage...they have had me change phones..no difference...they have checked and re-checked...it is simply a dead spot with no option to enhance!! I just can't abide with this any longer...no cell phone at home presents many problems in my life...so unless I want to climb the 120 ft Douglas Fir tree in my front yard every time I want to answer the phone...( this gets old fast!!)..I'm stuck with trying to find better service...and now I'm finding out that so many people are unhappy with Cingular...Sprint was my other choice...they have given me good coverage in the past in Seattle but not so good in other parts of the country...and I left them because of horrid customer service...So if anyone is considering T-Mobile...check those coverage areas carefully....and as for me.....2 tin cans and a string work just as well as what I have at my house right now....

I just spent the last 25 minutes untangling the cords on my mini blinds....as I do almost daily. I usually like to find the positive in everything...but we had blinds made for our kitchen windows and view doors out to our deck by 3-Day Blinds sometime back and I can't name a thing that is positive about this entire experience. I have Levelor blinds throughout the rest of my house and have had them for over 15 years...they don't fade, tangle, bend , fold, stick, hang unevenly or give me ANY trouble.....The 3-Day blinds (which my husband warned me about in the beginning, as sounding like they might not be quality)...fold and get creases in them when you barely bump them...they never raise or lower evenly...the "slats" of the blinds chip so easily and every day I have at least one run-in with one set. It is simply amazing that I have put up with them this long. I didn't want to have my windows "naked" for as long as it would have take to order the more expensive, higher quality blinds...and you certainly get what you pay for!!!! I contacted them within 2 weeks of the installation ( which by the way wasn't in 3 days but 10 days.)...telling them of all the sticking trouble I was having ...they came out 3-4 times and basically told me if I would have ordered more expensive blinds I wouldn't be having this bad experience...and that since they are all custom made they couldn't do anything about the poor quality purchase I had made!!! I even asked if I could at least get a discount on a more expensive set...and they replied that I had used my new customer discount already and they wouldn't be able to help me any further. This seems to be such bad customer service..I was beside myself...so now I am ordering "REAL" blinds from a business that seems to know about customer satisfaction and they will take 14-21 days to arrive at which time I will throw a party as I throw out these poorly made, poorly installed poorly chosen FAUX mini blinds....over the 2 year period I have tried to work with 3-Day Blinds I have never had anyone call me back....I always have to call them...and they are never available to talk....Please save yourselves a lot of grief and money...and don't shop at 3-Day Blinds... ( Mine was the Southcenter Location)...I'll let you know when the big day arrives and I finally get blinds that actually raise when you pull the cords and lower when you release the cords and HOLD the blinds up when you engage the locking mechanism.....and they will definitely NOT be 3-Day!!!!

My husband and I love the Alexis Hotel and every once in a while we book a getaway that always includes a fabulous trip down to the Aveda Spa...it is sooooooo relaxing to indulge in a spa treatment ( all of them are especially wonderful) and then just pop up to your room in your comfy robe and slippers...not having to drive or engage in any "thinking activities"...you really reap the benefits of the treatment when you can walk back to your room and continue the relaxation mode!!!! In the winter it is a double treat because the treatments can be tailored to the cold weather and then the hotel is one of few in Seattle that actually offer "real fireplaces"...and after a massage/body treatment a relaxing drink by the fire extends the whole mindset......I prefer to make this trip just before the holidays....then I lay by the fire and write my Christmas cards..or notes...and after a day of holiday shopping this spa is the surefire cure to any tension the day may have provided you!!! I guess this is sort of a review of the hotel and the spa...but I have linked them in my mind forever.!!!!! I have also driven downtown for the solo spa treatment and have enjoyed it to the fullest....they just know how to take care of you ...and their products are so pure and such high quality...in my shower at home my mind re links to the treatment through the wonderful magic of olfactory memory!!!..I highly recommend this to everyone.....whether you treat yourself once or many times a year...it is well worth the time and money...and if the treatments and hotel are too far above your financial comfort level...stop in and buy some products to take home (Lavendou candles are a hit for me)..and create your own relaxing getaway in your very own tub.....the shampure is wonderful ....and the madder root conditioner is a must for every redhead!!!! ( Blondes beware...this will make you "pink"...) The employees are well informed and very helpful....and now that I've written this review...I'm tempted to pick up the phone and book an appointment!!!! Enjoy...you can't go wrong with ANY service they offer!!!

Here is a very caring, competent cardiologist. You are definitely not just a number here....and the care is top notch...I have had an irregular heartbeat for years and been told by many physicians that it was a heart murmur...Dr. Broudy diagnosed it as heart palpitations immediately and began an oral therapy that has changed my life!!!!! I no longer have the lingering palpitations and I feel great....He lets me participate in my therapy and listens like no one ever has....I have been able to wean down my dose ( with his watchful eye and blessing) and am very happy with the outcome. He is a very concerned physician and never lets anything get overlooked....He is in a great practice with many other specialists in the field...and if he doesn't think your problem can be helped in his area of expertise he will find you the right practitioner...His staff is great and the view is fabulous...( they just moved into the Nordstrom Tower on the 15th floor)..hopefully most of you will never need him ...but if you do...he's tops in my book!!!! ( HIs group is Seattle Cardiology)

I recently was referred to Mr. Shimizu by a physician friend of mine. She had highly recommended him from some treatments she received many years ago. I must admit that I was a bit skeptical that I would notice any immediate effects from this treatment. I have been having multiple difficulties with shoulders, hip, fatigue and insomnia. I wondered how much of a difference this acupressure method would make. Upon arrival at the clinic I was greeted by the practitioner's son and assured they would be right with me....So first impressions were good and things only got better...when Roy ( Mr. Shimizu) came to work on me (after the "gowning process") he set right to work and without any indication from me, did an exam and located several areas he identified as problematic...he was right on!!! In a 45 minute session he used an incredible technique and when I left I was shocked at how many areas were so much better....this was not just a momentary effect...I have way more range of motion in my shoulders and my hip has yet to bother me since ( I had put up with that pain for 3 months)....I asked about booking more sessions and they said they are there to take care of the problems and get you back into your life...unlike some practitioners that demand many return visits..they like to do 2-4 sessions and send you on your happy way!!! I am returning for my 2nd session on Wednesday...and really looking forward to it. I have tried acupuncture before and many forms of massage..but this acupressure technique was a hit for me...I felt as though he accomplished in one session what a massage therapist would have to do in several hours...and possibly things that would never be resolved with plain massage. Don't get me wrong...I love massage and believe it to be a very essential tool in keeping us all healthy and moving..but this is more therapeutic for me and more to the point...His clinic is very basic and he fills you with information about each point he works on...it is a great lesson in "body work and maintenance"...I highly recommend this clinic and practitioner...and hope it is beneficial for you all. While in the waiting room before treatment I was speaking with a wonderful woman who has been coming to him over the years...she told me some great stories of wonderful results she has seen for so many over that period of time...since leaving the clinic I have spoken to 3 different people that have seen him for everything from MS to Irritable Bowel Syndrome...all with very favorable outcomes...I'm hooked...my doctor's all want to label me with an autoimmune disorder..and although I'll pay close attention to those symptoms, I am loving my current status of no pain and lots of movement....( I walked my 6.5 miles night before last pain free!!!) Hip, hip ( no pun intended) hooray!!!

I have had 6 implants done by a wonderful surgeon..and the surgical placement of the implants wasn't nearly the pain I had expected...I only used ibuprofen for pain relief and was very comfortable with that therapy....I had a situation due to poor dental treatment earlier in life and really had no alternative...so I searched the town for the best person to do the job...and believe I found him.. Dr Darrin Rapoport...he is an incredibly caring man with the patience of a saint...( me as a patient can be a trial !!)...But back to the pain....I had extensive gum grafting done ( using the roof of my mouth for the donor site)...and I will spare no time in telling you that THAT IS PAIN.....I was well warned by Dr Rapoport and his staff that this could be challenging and they were by my side at every turn...the ibuprofen worked again for the first 2 days ...and then life changed...YIKES...the Vicodin he prescribed for the original surgery (because I didn't want anything stronger) became my every 4 hour friend....alternating with the ibuprofen....and eating was definitely not fun....but I got through it and looking back it was as any surgery can be..riddled with post surgical pain...but the outcome was great and although that grafting on such a large area would not be pleasant to relive...I know I would do it again if I had to So this may not be what you wanted to hear...but with the right professional doing the job the implants are not very painful in my experience...but the 4 week later grafting is high on my list of memories I'd rather forget...This is not to take away anything from Dr. Rapaport..as I really feel that his talent is unsurpassed and his staff treat you like loved family members....I would never have done it without much research about the practitioner..as I feel many dentists do this themselves instead of referring you out.... Best of luck with your choices...and the benefits may outweigh any of the discomfort!!!.
