If you want to add a bit of color or style to your plain wardrobe, this is a good urban chic store to visit. Their merchandise is primarily targeted for teens/college students. Some of the stuff is overpriced, like $40 for a flimsy wrinkled t-shirt. The sales can be fairly good sometimes. I particularly like the colorful housewares and decorations they have. Lots of funky lamps and pillows. They also have incense and lots of candles to choose from. They also have some odd/interesting books that you can pick up. It was quite amusing to find the "Daily Show with Jon Stewart presents America" hardcover in the store.

Really great prices for lots of name brand clothing and merchandise. If you sign up for their mailing list, they send you coupons in the mail for extra discounts -- sometimes an additional 25% off. A major plus is the large selection of designers they carry. If you're a bargain hunter, this a great store to go to. I've found great shoes for unbeatable prices -- that's if you can find your size. However, if you don't like sifting through the sea of racks of disorganized clothing, this isn't the place for you.

Many people drop by to browse and the clerks don't mind. If you're a student, you can find chinese to english and vice versa dictionaries. There are books for adults as well as youngsters.

For those who are literate in Chinese, this store has a varied selection of novels and magazines. The store is quite small compared to normal standards. I've noticed that students like to drop by to pick up stationary. They have some plush Hello Kitty and Sanrio toys, stickers, posters, and some anime related goods. There is also some chinese music Cd's to purchase. However, I think their selection is too small and recommend the larger stationary stores and book stores in the neighborhood.

It looks flimsy but the loud buzzer is all I needed it for. They also carry clothing, soap, detergent, pretty much anything you're looking for. However, it's usually quite crowded and thus, the aisles tend to get quite messy. The deals are cheap but you can probably find better products if you pay a few bucks more elsewhere. The few times I've been there, items I see there are already broken or someone has opened it. Not really a place I would go often.

This store is a step above your local Dollar Store but quality is less than a Target/Walmart. Lots of cheap stuff but keep in mind you get what you pay for. If quality isn't a priority, then you won't mind the things you find here. During Christmas time, they seem to have bins full of holiday ornaments, gifts and cards. The boxes of cards aren't too bad to pick up since they're the same variety packs that you'll find at the pharmacy or chain stores.

Although not as tidy as your local B&N, this is one of New York's most well known bookstore. Many of the books are 30% or half off. You can find new or used books. And you can find some rare editions. The bargain carts that are sometimes littered outside the store are great to sift through. You never know what you might find for a few bucks. They usually have a sale every year which I try to catch. Fit as many books into a bag and pay only $15, if I remember correctly.

They also have some interesting car products such as dashboard ornaments. Also lots of stuffed animals and bags. There aren't too many in the neighborhood so this is one good place to stop by if you're looking for plush toys/cute gifts.

It can be a bit overwhelming if you don't know what you are looking for but I've asked the staff a number of occasions and they are helpful. They have so-so sales. Prices may not be better than competitors so you should shop around. They also have a good extensive catalog if you can't find what you are looking for in store.
