We have had bad luck every time we've gone in to any of the Bellette's locations (Jaffrey, Peterborough, New Ipswich). They typically never have anything we need. We are always told we have to order it or find it somewhere else.
The staff is far from helpful. Most of them don't ask you if you need help - they just assume you don't. When asked, they kind of just "shrug" saying they can help. And then they begrudgingly help you.
The products are way overpriced. They DO have Benjamin Moore paints though, which is the only reason we've gone there.

Unfortunately, the only thing going for them is their location. The staff has not typically been helpful. I once waited in the loading area for 15 minutes before FINALLY complaining only to be told they had "forgotten about me". Nice way to treat your customers.
The store is in disarray. The products are over priced (at least in the horse section). You are better off purchasing from a catalog and paying shipping than purchasing from this store. The shavings (for bedding) are small bags and are very dusty.
I avoid going to this store at all costs!

This is THE place to go for shrubs, flowers and trees. I have found their selection to be far superior to any other nursery in the area. In addition, the overall plant health is better than other nurseries. The prices are lower than that of area nurseries, perhaps because the volume they carry. And finally, the staff is superb. They are knowledgeable of every plant species they carry, and help you load your car!
The gift shop has a lot of fun little country/antique items.
Free cookies and popcorn for visitors. The only bad thing I can say is that the parking can be hairy sometimes. We have a very large truck, and if the parking on the side of the building is taken, we have to park in front. The front parking area is difficult to navigate with a very large truck.

I have found their selection of clothing for girls, under the age of 24 months, to be pretty bad. The majority of the clothing are play clothes quality only. Overpriced play clothes at that. The clothing I have seen has been ragged, some stained, and most of the decent finds were store brand (Kid Connection) and not worth the money they were asking for it.
They do sell beds, swings, shoes, etc, but I have yet to actually find anything worth the money they were asking.
Bottom line: save your money and trek a few miles down the street to Mother & Child, another, bigger, consignment shop. Mother & Child has a much bigger selection, better quality (Gymboree, Gap) and the staff there are MUCH friendlier.

My hubby took me to Michael Timothy's on our first anniversary. It also happened to be New Year's Eve, so they had their special dinner selection for us. The cost was $90 a plate. All of the selections looked fabulous. I had the Beef Wellington. While I wished it was Filet Mignon, I thought it was cooked correctly and tasted delicious! The atmosphere was great - soft jazz music playing the background. I highly recommend this restauarant. Parking can be an issue (there is a municipal parking lot not too far), and reservations are recommended.

Acqua Bistro has good food. When I was there, I had a steak and it was just okay. Service was very good. Our waitress was knowledgeable about menu items and was very attentive. The atmosphere in the restaurant was decent. I was expecting a more romantic or eclectic atmosphere, but was surprised with a more utilitarian atmosphere. You are there to eat, not to admire the atmosphere. All in all, I thought the food was good, but not necessarily worth the money. When done, we wished we had gone to Outback Steakhouse and spent the money, as opposed to Acqua Bistro. The bartender was fabulous and made a killer "Clockwork Orange". We would go back for the bar only....not for the food!

My daughter is 18 months old, thus the review below is based on the toys for around that age and younger.
This toy store has it all. It doesn't typically carry the "standard" toys you'd see in a big toy chain such as Toys R Us. This store carries far superior toys that typically have educational value and will hold up for generations.
We have found toys from 50 cents on up. The service at this toy shop is phenomenal. The owner, Isis, once opened a toy for me to show me how it worked and allow my daughter to try it first. Then she gave me an unopened one when I wanted to buy it.
Gift wrapping is free. The gift wrap is beautiful.
They also have a frequent buyers card, whereby you get your card stamped each time you purchase, and then, at the end of the card (12?), they average the purchases you've made and then you get that amount for free! That keeps me going back.
