Chocolate lovers unite and join me at Theo Chocolates in the Fremont neighborhood. Located in the old Red Hook Brewery this new company will very quickly become a very popular place. Theo Chocolates specializes in organic, fair trade chocolate. They roast on site and they have turned the formulation of chocolate confections into an art. I took home with me a chocolate bar called Bread and Chocolate, it is a dark chocolate bar that reminds me of Pain au Chocolate Francais. This chocolate is not for the Hershey Bar fans, it is for a far more sophisticated pallet! As the company is just starting up, they are only open for tours and purchases on the weekends, but their chocolates are being sold at PCC, Central Market and will soon be found at Whole Foods. It is going to be a lot of fun watching this company grow!

When we moved to Seattle in 1997 I had to figure out where to have my hair done. A friend told me that Gene Juarez is always a good choice, so I called for an appointment. Well, my first appointment there was scheduled with a stylist who was not able to see me after all that day. Instead, the receptionist had Yent do my hair. And boy am I glad that she did! Ever since then I have been having Yent do my hair. She has seen me through a wedding and the birth of two children and has always been able to make me feel glamorous.

The studio glazes and fires the pieces and they are ready for you in about a week! The staff at Paint The Town are fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable and always willing to help those of us with little ones. It is perfect entertainment for kids and adults - in fact, my husband and I have been known to go there on our date nights on occasion. Ray's is always a winner. My husband and I have been long-time fans of the restaurant downstairs. For a more casual, but still delicious dinner, the cafe upstairs is a great option. Even the bar upstairs is fun! We went last weekend and had the most amazing Salmon Skewer Appetizer. We then shared a salad and an entree. The prices are moderate. The two of us shared everything and our bill was under $50.00. The portions were large enough to share, both of us walked out of the restaurant full! Our warning - make a reservation or be prepared to wait. We arrived at 8:00 pm on Saturday night and the wait was 90 minutes.
