Grandfather Mountain is an awesome place to visit. Don't miss the mile high swinging bridge. But its getting very expensive. If you live in Watauga County, December and April are $1 months where you can get in for $1. Other than that, I think its up to $14 per person. They have really good hiking trails and actually a very nice snack bar. The swinging bridge is the reason to go however!
