Kozue is a Japanese restaurant in Wallingford in the space that used to be called Ai. It seems to me to be very familiar, so I have a little bit of a hard time keeping them straight in my mind. The food is pretty good, but I wasn't blown away by it. Japanese food is far and away my favorite kind of food, but I'm so rarely impressed with any Japanese restaurant in America in the same way that I was with so much of the food I ate in Japan...

After checking out the bookstores in West Seattle and not being very impressed at first I've come to really like Leisure Books. It's the only one that I visit on a regular basis. Their focus seems to be mainly on paperback novels, and while that doesn't interest me much, I do like the strange variety of discounted titles they have.

I have to admit that it's rare that a Thai restaurant really stands out from the others I've been to, and this one is no exception - but that's not a bad thing. The food has been consistently good when I've been here. It's a good place to come for a bowl of noodles, or Thai curries vegetables on rice.

All-in-all Magus is probably my favorite bookstore anywhere. It's not huge which is what makes the selection they do have even more impressive. I actually like it better than any of the big stores...
All-in-all Magus is probably my favorite bookstore anywhere. It's not huge which is what makes the selection they do have even more impressive. I actually like it better than any of the big stores I've been to like Powells. They have a particularly good selection of academic and foreign language books. I continuously find interesting books here.

The only thing that really makes Newberry Books stand out in my mind from all the other bookstores in town is that they had a pretty good selection of used Japanese books, especially for their size....

If that's what you're looking for, it's probably worth checking them out. Otherwise I'd say just stop in if you're already in the area and you want to look at used books.

Despite the name this is basically just a little restaurant. If you want Middle Eastern groceries your best bet that I know of is The Souk in Pike Place Market. Aladdin's has pretty good falafel...

The Trading Musician is a great place to look for used music equipment. They have a big selection of guitars, drums, etc, etc, including lots of effects pedals and things like that. Just be sure...

I've been really happy with the photo processing I've had done here. Sometimes they were even nice enough to make several prints of the same photo with slightly different color settings and they let me keep all the extras free of charge. That was a really helpful they did for me!
They also have a small but nice selection of photo frames, and apparently from the name you can come here to ship things too.
