Oprah brought the "fame" to Ezells Famous Chicken in her grease days by flying in the Chicken from Seattle to cater her events. One of the only local chicken places I know of, you can order Ezells in original or spicy. Not much of a fried food fan myself, I love Ezells rolls. They are usually served hot and have a hint of sweetness about them. Be aware that there is no seating available at this location - take out only.

Salsa nights at the Century Ballroom are fun and sweaty. All levels will probably feel comfortable here, and it's a good place to practice if you take classes there during the week. There are also swing nights and tango nights. There's no cover if you eat at the restaurant. It is very popular though, and thus can be VERY crowded.

You will learn a from a salsa course at the Century Ballroom. We took a salsa course from a community center and were lost on the dance floor, but after attending at the Century Ballroom, we could "strut our stuff." Classes are very large and you will rotate through partners, so you do not need a partner in order to sign up for the class. You also receive a video CD with the moves you will learn in the class - great for reviewing.

Located in the lower level of the Center House in Seattle Center, the Children's Museum occupies a vast space filled with all sorts of ways for children to explore and use their imaginations. Directly across from the entrance is a large climbing wall and there are paths with caves to explore. There are many different tableux set up with appropriate props for children to act out storylines - e.g., houses from different nations, stores, etc. There is also a special area for crawlers and several rooms that can be rented out for birthday parties.

Red Robin doesn't offer exotic or gourmet fare, but they do offer good food, great service and a relaxing atmosphere. The menu is heavy on the burgers, but also includes a bit of everything else, from salads to pasta. This is a stress-free restaurant to bring the kiddies to - lots of decoration, wait staff accustomed to kids and enough ambient noise to muffle those kiddie flare-ups while still allowing for conversation. One of the best things about Red Robin is the consistently great service. Drinks are promptly refilled and servers are always friendly and accommodating.

This family-owned restaurant on Roosevelt Way is not the place to go when you want a light meal. This is the place for cheeeeese. Lots and lots of cheese. From pizza to lasagna, you'll find most dishes covered in bubbly, fresh mozzarella. The cinnamon in the lasagna gives it a special touch. Casual and quiet, come here for a no-frills, satisfying family meal.

Enat is a small Ethiopian Restaurant in the Northgate neighborhood. About 2/3 of the building space is dedicated to dining tables and the rest is divided between the bar and a small dance floor. The food is usually very good, and a combination plate easily feeds at least 2 people for about $10. If you are not familiar with Ethiopian food, a variety of dishes are served on a giant piece of sour, spongy, bread (called injera). 2 large pieces of Injera are also served on the side. You don't use utensils of any kind other than your hands. Break off a piece of the Injera and use it to pick up the food. Although the restaurant is small, we have never had to wait for a table.

If you're looking for fun fitness classes that challenge your mind as well as your body, check out Pro-Robics. Owned by national fitness professional, Kari Anderson, the club offers a variety of classes from aerobics to spinning to yoga. For a maximum challenge in choreography, check out one of Kari's classes. The clubs also offer a variety of universal weights, cardio machines, and free weights. To be honest, I skip these rooms and head right for the aerobic studio, though. You won't get any high-pressure sales tactics here, and membership is good at either club (Queen Anne location and Laurelhurst location). My one big criticism is that the clubs get way too hot in the summer.

MMM, we love the food at Cafe India. If you're looking for a place for lunch, be sure to stop by the lunch buffet. The buffet includes about 8 hot dishes, most of which are vegetarian (about 3 are usually chicken or other meats). The dishes vary by day, but usually include a tandoori chicken, a chicken with sauce dish (e.g., chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, etc.), vegetable dishes, and 2 desserts. Saag Paneer (spinach with cheese) is often a highlight of the buffet for us. Ordering off the menu is also a tasty experience. We especially love the Navrattan Korma. The atmosphere is casual, the staff is friendly and the food is fabulous.
Edited: Not sure if the cooks have changed, but our last visit was nothing like that described above. The food was nothing special. Hopefully, this was a one time anamoly.
