This place easily qualifies as one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Atlanta. It's not cheap, but is anything of immense quality? You pay for what you get here. Get the Sesame Chicken. I usually get two orders for take out and pay an extra couple of bucks to get some more thrown in. Though I love vegetables (as a vegetarian, duh!), I tend to leave the broccoli out of this dish --- no need to get in the way of the really good stuff.

Mirch Masala was terrible. Once you have had great Indian food, you get significantly dissapointed after eating at this place. It's like the Indian version of Shoney's Big Boy.

I ate here only once. It wasn't my style. The food was nothing remarkable and certainly did not justify the trip. Avoid at all costs.

If you are a vegetarian and 1) Live in or around NYC or 2) are planning to visit NYC you must pay a visit to Hangawi. If you're a budget conscious college student, save up the 50 duckets that it will cost you and take a camera for the memories.
If someone else is paying, well then yippee! Get the mountain roots appetizer --- it's off the chain, maing. The head straight for the grilled tofu in seaweed sauce and/or one of the hot stone bowls (known "be bim bop" to the hardcore).
When I visit NYC, I feel deprived and cheated if I don't get a chance to eat at Hangawi. If you're travelling solo -- have no fear --- go by yourself and forget about feeling awkward. It's all cool at Hangawi.

I don't think you can find another place in the ATL where you can get as stuffed for under $10. Don't bother asking for a menu. All you can ask for is a "thali." The items in the thali are set for a given day. There are very few places in ATL, amongst the mill of South Indian restaurants, that serve food from the state of Gujarat.
And you'll be entertained on top of that. The owner is a downright hoot. Come prepared for a little spice, a lot of food, and a few laughs.

Selection - Great
Staff recommendations - Great
Stock - Great
Friendliness - Awesome!
Shopping ease - Not-so-great
One must view most CDs through a giant glass counter that separates the store employees from the customers. It's challenging to browse for something in a relaxed way especially if you don't know what you're looking for.
Other than that - 4 stars!

If you're looking for Atlanta's best dosa (pronounced "those huh"), look no further than Madras Saravana Bhavan located in Decatur.
Atlanta has no short supply of South Indian restaurants. South Indian food should never be that expensive so don't be surprised to find a bunch of them listed under the "Cheap Eats" section in a variety of local rags.
All out-of-towners that come to visit me eventually get a swing by this strip mall establishment.
Just one warning if you get anything other than dosa: mild is still quite spicy here. Just sayin.'

This is one of those places where both vegetarians and carnivores will find themselves thinking "I've just found my new favorite restaurant."

If you're stuck and there are no other choices, this will suffice. But Atlanta has so many better vegetarian offerings that Cameli's has to be an emergency.

Cafe Sunflower is great don't get me wrong, but it's on the expensive side. Both of those things considered it would still be 4 stars.
