Elliott Bay Book Company is the best independent bookstore! There is a great selection and I appreciate their big used-books section. They have many shelves with recommendations written up by the staff, a nice cafe downstairs, and they have author readings practically every night (sometimes in other locations, and the schedule can be viewed on their website). I LOVE browsing at this bookstore--it is a unique bookstore with so much variety!
