HAWS (the Waukesha Co. Humane Society) is an ideal place to adopt a pet. They are thorough and precise in the adoption and very careful to make sure to pair the right animal with the right family.
We adopted our dog from here and they interviewed us before we were even accepted.
Once you are approved, you are taken to a large (gymnasium size ) room to meet your pet. You are given lots of hands on training.
The animals come fully neutered and spayed and with their first set of innoculations.
The staff is absolutely wonderful, very caring and attentive.
There is also a website to preview any available animals.

A fun library to view, from both the outside and in. It is a circular library, the building was built in a circular fashion! There is an inside courtyard that is opened during the warmer months.
The library is a great place to access reference materials and books, however, it is not as conducive to studying. The layout is such that everything is open, so noises are not muffled.
The librarians are excellent, very knowledgable and can direct you to what you are looking for.
The parking is good and the hours are varied.

Alverno is a great secret for the City of Miwaukee. It is a small, non co-ed liberal arts college, yet full of great things for the community.
They have a wonderful program for children in the community that need speech assistance. If you are admitted, your child will be evaluated for free.
They also have a wonderful fine arts school and the plays and musicals that are open to the public are marvelous!
The library is old and quaint and open to the public. The perfect place to read or study, it reminds me of a library at Harvard.
Alverno has a unique grading system in which letter grades are not given the huge importance they are in other schools.
Parking is usually good, but during busy times, you may find yourself parking in a residential area and walking.

The Greenfield Public Library was built only a decade ago, but it has already outgrown its space. The library is very cramped, with tight quarters. The book selection is large and varied, but there, literally, is no room to move.
The librarians are excellent, extremely helpful and attentive to their patrons needs.
There are lots of great programs (all free) for both children and adults. You need to pre-sign up for them, but we have never had one filled and not been admitted in.
The hours are varied, with Sunday afternoons during the winter months being open.
There is a book drop outside in case the library is closed.

The Elm Grove Library is a wonderful library for children. Nestled in the heart of Elm Grove, unless you know where it is, it will be hard to locate. However, once you do find it, you are in for a treat. The childrens section is absolutely wonderful. There is a play room, with darling hand painted childrens book characters on the windows. There are toys and big comy mats in which to curl up with your favorite book.
There are french doors that close, so as not to disturb the other patrons.
The childrens section of the library is full and varied.
There is a nice adult area, but the library should toot its horn on how it caters to the children of the community!

However, their bakery is simply heavenly. The brownies are a must have!
They also have a wonderful produce section and meat market. The meat is top quality and perfect for that special occassion. Prices are higher, but you are assured top quality cuts of meat.
The store hours are great and the staff is absolutely wonderful, very friendly and accomodating.

Southridge Athletic Club is a wonderful fitness and racquetball club. The amenities are wonderful, there is a massage therapist available, a nutritionist and several personal trainers.
The cardio room is stocked with plenty of equipment, so that there generally is never a wait to use a machine, even during the busiest times.
There are several televisions to watch during your workout.
The raquetball courts are also plentiful. You can call ahead for a court, to insure its availability.
The locker rooms are neat and clean and very well maintained.
The pool area is clean and the pool and whirlpool very well maintained.
You are given a fresh, warm towel upon your arrival.
The parking is wonderful as is the staff. Hours are great, from early morning until late evening.

I had the pleasure of using Dr. Caldwell to deliver our third child. He is a very kind, gently doctor, very quiet and not overpowering. He listens carefully to ones concerns and only after you are finished, does he offer advice or his opinion.
He is extremely educated, and very current. I was able to discuss new advances and he was able to add input.
If there is a problem, he is available quickly. You can often get same day service if needed.
Staff is wonderful, from reception to the nurses.
He has two offices. Parking is at a premium at both, so be prepared for a walk at most times of the day.
There is plenty of handicapped parking if needed.

A great place to experience real life hockey is to attend an Admirals game. The best part, is that it is treated like a party. There is plenty of loud, fun music, flashing lights and of course, the requisite hockey fight or two.
There are often special family promotions, in which a family of four can attend the game and have dinner for a very reasonable cost.
They are always running great promotions and it would be in your best advantage to use these for some great deals.
Parking is downtown and is at a premium. Plan on paying for parking, most likely in a parking garage.

This is a great place to take the kids to burn off some energy during the cold winter months. Each Friday they have an evening Open Gym for the kids. The cost is $6 and they have use of the entire gym. There are trampolines, a wonderful foam pit to go "swimming" in and many other activities. They are allowed on anything and can burn off lots of excess energy, while strengthening their muscles and endurance.
The staff is wonderful, very friendly. The gym is extremely clean and well-kept.
They also cater marvelous birthday parties.
